Sorry to start another thread for this, hopefully this will be the last time.. I copied the list from the last sign up and here is where we stand.

If you have pictures of your ride, post them here so if seen out on the road, we will be more familiar with who it is. (The picture of the owners ride will follow their name) chevy

I'm guessing you mean that the ball mount is stuck inside the receiver?
Your description is rather lacking.
If my guess is right, soak the receiver tube from both ends with something like PB Blaster or other penetrating lube, and hammer at the ball mount SIDEWAYS a bit, not foreward and aft, break the grip of the rust.

My AV is shy!  It does not allow me to take it's picture.

It once said if I took it's picture it would have to ........ send itself to the Dealer for repair!

So if you see it don't take a picture as I can't afford a trip to the Dealership!

Thanks for inviting and welcoming me into the club, I am very interesting in meeting some of the other members at the gathering.   Looking forward to getting some ideas for some mods for my truck.   I am on Lakeshore Pkwy quite a bit an often on Greensprings Avenue, an Oxmoor in the Homewood area.   If someone sees my truck give me a beep beep on the horn.

Glad you found your way over here, Iceman. Something a lot of members do is replace the bulbs in their day time running lights from stock white to amber bulbs. This is how fellow club members identify each other out on the road. There are mods galore out there for your year model, so feel free to look around and see what you like or don't like. Best thing you can do is go to g2gs and meet other members and see their trucks.

I'll also invite you to check out our National G2G Section which will be held in Pigeon Forge, TN. in July. There will be members from all over the country attending, and we're very excited about it!

Again, Welcome! to CAFCNA and I look forward to meeting you soon chevy

Alabama is a great place to be for an Avalanche.  Beaches in the South and Mountains and a sky resort in the North!  Also the good thing about Alabama cold weather is it is rare for it to last a week.

Glad to be member and look forward to a G2G.  Sorry I won't be at the Trussville G2G because I will be returning from a cruise to the Bahama's 1/25/08. So I will be traveling back to Bama the 26th.  But I am looking forward to meeting other AV owners interested enough to form a club.

Welcome to the club, Iceman.  You will find a wealth of information about all aspects of the AV.  I live in the Homewood area where you frequently travel.  I intend to install amber bulbs in my running lights so other members will recognize me, as AVcop mentioned.  I haven't washed my AV in a while, but will post a picture when I do so.

I am a new member from the North Alabama area. I just bought a 2002 Forest Green Z71. Just dropped in to say hey. I also had a question about the stock gears. The code in the car reads GT5 does that mean I have 4.10 gears in the truck?

I am a new member from the North Alabama area. I just bought a 2002 Forest Green Z71. Just dropped in to say hey. I also had a question about the stock gears. The code in the car reads GT5 does that mean I have 4.10 gears in the truck?
welcome aboard! we are glad to have you!

GT5 is in fact 4:10 gears

All right I give.  I have been a CAFCNA member for over 5 years, but I always had to get together with Middle Tennessee Club for GTG's, as Alabama had no chapter,  banghead  (Thanks Earthquake- great chapter) but I have skimmed the board for a couple years lately, being real busy at work, and unable to go to meets, but I will try to be more visible in the future.   Beating  I believe I have seen ambers floating around Huntsville, Alabama where I work, and Athens, Alabama where I sleep   Cheesy  But if you'll take an old (32 thank u) Middle Tennessee member, we may see you around.  You cant miss me, I drive a 03 YELLLLLLLLERRRRR   love    love     love    Z71 Cladded running ambers.  So hopefully if Redstone doesn't keep me I will try and make some meets.  I'll get a pic posted when it warms up enough to get a non bird-poo picture.   Roll Eyes  BTW- Put me down as Huntsville, AL - nobody knows Athens, or East Limestone for that matter)

Bl wright, welcome to NAL AV group.  We are a fun loving bunch.  Just watch out for Brian, he has "Evil Crayons" that draw pictures when no one posts actual pictures.  So always make sure you post pictures if you have them.

I've seen a few of those Southern Comfort conversions... NICE.

As for brakes, I'll probably do the slot/drilled rotor setup that is covered in the mod section and go with the high performance calipers.  Wifey is agreeing that it is needed. Smiley

Waxed her on Sunday.  Just took these yesterday.  Figures, UPS ran and my factory chrome handles came in.  Was too dark after the install to get more pics.  My Volant will be in tomorrow, so I'll try to get some new ones.

SWEET ride blwright! let me know how that volant works out for you. I have been thinking about switching to it. Do you have ambers in yet? If not, let me know and I will be glad to help install a set for you.  love

Don't have ambers yet.  I'm going to do all the lights at one time (when the HID's get here) so I don't have to remove the headlights more than once.

how bout we meet up and I pay you for them, but do a installation later. I may be helping a member change out a oil pressure sensor. HID's are on order and should be in soon. You going to install yours now or when we have our HID install party?  Huh We'd love to have you join us either way!

I've seen a few of those Southern Comfort conversions... NICE.

As for brakes, I'll probably do the slot/drilled rotor setup that is covered in the mod section and go with the high performance calipers.  Wifey is agreeing that it is needed. Smiley

I have a question for you.  How many miles do you have on your brakes?  I have 60K on my truck and am still going strong.

For everyone else I have been busy and I have a one off mod I will take a picture of to show you how I have been busy. Looking forward to in person meetings.

I put my HID's and ambers in last week before our trip.

What's up gang? I'm still here although still spending quite a bit of time at my parents in Shorter. I have been trying get a walk in shower installed in their house so they don't have to try to climb back and forth into the bathtub. I got that finished so maybe I can take a little time to install a few of the new mods for my truck. They have been sitting under my dad's carport for a couple of months now calling my name. Anyway just wanted to tell everyone have safe and happy turkey day maybe we can get something going after holiday season. I have an offer for you.  On April 18th the Ft Payne Kiwanis Club is having a pancake breakfast.  It is six dollars for all you can eat.  But now for the good part if you guys and gals want to show off your Av's they will let you eat free!  Just come between 9 & 11 and we will advertise that you will be there.  Afterwards we have the Alabama Fan Club, Little River Canyon and several other things you can do to make it a day.  Let me know what you think, thanks.

If my guess is right, soak the receiver tube from both ends with something like PB Blaster or other penetrating lube, and hammer at the ball mount SIDEWAYS a bit, not foreward and aft, break the grip of the rust.

Nice area down there east of Mobile Bay.  We kept our sailboat off Perdido Bay over in Orange Beach (Bear Point Marina) and drove down through that area often enough. Smiley

They are doing great!  The new baby boy is sleeping better than his 21month old sister.   Thanks for the thoughts.

Sounds good.  I will be in town awhile, due to the new baby thing, so we could plan something.

Add me to the list. I was on here a couple of years ago when I had my 05 Southern Comfort Avalanche on 23"s. However I sold it. and jacked up a brand new 07 2 door Jeep Wrangler on 22"s with 35"s. But I have since married and I bought my wife a 4 door Jeep Wrangler lifted with 35"s and I know have another Avalanche which I hope to keep for a while. It is a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche Z71 4x4. Black. only 55,000 Miles and looks and rides like brand new. What has been done to date: 6" Fabtech, 18" panther wheels, New 35" Kumho Venture MT. Bugguard, Window Guards, Tint. Looking to add complete alarm with remote and auto window rollup in the next couple of weeks, and hopefully also order the saddle box and tailgate power locks, subs for the rear, black textured factory fender flares, husky liners, and a ton of other items on the ever growing wish list, that does not seems to match up with the ever diminishing bank account, LOL. Andalusia, Alabama

I'm baaaaaack and still listed.  I may be trading my '07 Avy today for an '08 IF the deal is right and I get all the features I now have.  I found an '09 listed at an Opelika, AL dealer but got the feeling they weren't interested in doing business so I'm off to Montgomery, AL this morning to see one on the lot.

I didn't trade. The '08 had less features than my '07 and had 22,000 miles with a little over 500 hours.  Mine has 33,000 and 300 hours.

Maybe when the 2010's come out, someone will have an '09 for trade.
