I'm sure we will figure it out once we're there
...so I'm willing to put up another 1/2 for the next person to setup to the plate

Okay, finally got my Av, so I'm in.
I'll have a CAI for sure by that time, not sure of anything else, so I'll say Stock for now.

Hugz, No we are going on Truck count. I talked to Livernois yesterday and they are willing to come out even if only for a day to do about 10-15 trucks.
Thank you

I guess my truck had a magic stock DS when i made my
6
pulls with it in 3rd gear to 130+mph...
I can't view the vids at work but, where these all Silverados in them? They have either a two piece DS OR one that is quite a bit longer then ours and the length of the DS can make a world of diffirence in the strength of the it...
But fine either way, if everyone is scared based on the vids then we will run in 2nd gear for the 4L60's and 4L80's and I'll have to use my closest gear in my 6spd to keep it fair.

Now before any of you get worried that this might happen to you, keep breathing. It probably won’t, and I’ll tell you why. Most of you don’t have 72” aluminum driveshafts.
Quote
Take a foot or 12” off (going down to 60”), you end up with a critical speed of 8935 RPM’s, which of course is not a problem. For those with 4WD, transfer cases use shorter shafts
that last quote sounds like the 4 of us (w/ 4wd), mine is even shorter w/ the 4L80E....thanks for links FB!
looks like not a lot to worry about...FWIW I have only been on 2 dynos, but have always done my pulls in 3rd (which makes the most sense to me).
I'm pulling in whatever gear everyone else is pulling in.

Opps...5 of us.
LA, maybe you should list who is 4wd and has a faster spinning driveshaft.

I'll come out and play. Hopefully someone runs a stock AV. I'm curious to see what my torque curve looks like compared to stock more than anything else. It's the towing thing ya know.

FlaBouy,
Thanks for the links on shafts and for the stock Dyno pic. Too bad it sounds like you're not going to be out playing that day.

OK a little off track but!
This will be on Fri and I am assuming that the off roading will be early in the week. I am guessing the AV's must be cleaned.
Also a good inspection of drive line! I have fractured u-joints slapping them on rocks before.
Also I guess I should really get under and inspect my Shaft as is I know it has been slid over some rocks
and is there a parts store near buy (or dealer)?

I do remember that...but, THAT one was the wrong one...the one that actually went in, if you recall, fit quite nicely.

Yes, you should inspect your drive shaft to make sure it is undamaged from any offroad adventures. Especially if you are getting a vibration over about 60mph and you know your tires are balanced.
As for cleaning, you don't want to be slinging mud everywere on the dyno or on everyone standing around thats for sure! I don't think Livernois wants to be cleaning mud out of the rollers either.

Can we sling mud at one another the day we do go off-roading? Cause me personally, ya, well, I do want to sling mud at people. It's fun
