Ok ... I finally got a chance to call and book my room .....

I have not stayed in the actual hotel but I have been around the site and it is nice including a nice pool ....

I booked a premium room for the nights listed above ... you get a bigger room, and with a lower level room you get a door to the parking lot and door to the pool ...

They will NOT do groups rates due to the time of the year and they know that the rooms will be booked ... I HIGHLY RECOMMEND CALLING AND BOOKING ASAP as she stated they do not have many rooms left ....

the hotel is located less than one block from Silver lake ... next door is a nice family resturant that my family and I have eaten at ... good food ... we are right in the heart of where all the action is ... across the street from us is the go-cart track (they have 2 places) ... we are within walking distance of the Jellystone campground .... and also very near the Jeep rentals ... we are about 1 mile from the entrance to the sand dunes ..... and about a mile from the state camp grounds

... don't go by the prices on the web site ... they are wrong ...

I got an upgraded Premium Room on the lower level with a door to the parking lot and a door to the pool ... $99 for Thursday and $139 for Fri/Sat ....

Basic room is $85 and $119 .... a room with a view of the lake is $89/$129 ....

Put me down as staying at the state campground. 

Lot 214 - 4 (SilverGhost AV)
Lot 216 - 4 (Duramax Crewcab)
Lot 219 - 6 (Chevy Crewcab, long box)  This one is fun to see go over test hill!
Lot 218 (?) - 4 (Duramax Crewcab & Jeep)

Can that Hotel accomidate a 25 foot enclosed trailer??

I don't take my Avy on the dunes.  I will be pulling my trailer with quads.

I would think it should .... give them a call and see .... there is a lot of parking in the area so I would think it wouldn't be a problem

I'd like to but can't get vacation approved until end of Feb or March. Also that is the week before GM two week shutdown which means highest seniority first. Next hurdle 6/26 is our wedding anniversary, maybe if I whine  I need a hug

I'd like to attend, if i do I'll prob camp somewhere...


also, my truck will be on the dunes, do we need to "prep" anything?
lots of sand and moving parts, i'd like to prevent some damage


anyways, no guarentees,  but i've been wanting to go for quite some time now

i'll check back later when its not midnight, i'm off to bed

I will more then likely come, prolly take a few other AV's Also. Prolly not overnight though.  Tell me which day you will be playing in the sand and i will come that day.

bahh im loving the winter!! I went from a Grand prix to buying my AV a few weeks back. . I love this snow!! let there be 4WD!!! lol :P Id love to go to the Dunes, Iv never been and have a ton of friends that go every year.  Maybe one year I will go but prolly not this year.  I prolly wouldnt take this AV up the dunes either.  Shes too pretty! rofl!

Hey all,
I have not been online here for some time. I will be at Silver Lake the same weekend. Primarily riding the quads. but the
BGBLKAV (licence) will be there with the wife behind the wheel & 8 year old shotgun. We usually sit at the bottom of test hill,.. and after about 4 hours of watching trucks struggling to go up the hill,... I go show 'em how its done. And that isn't with a running start!.
