And it's still leaking  :E: :E:

After everything else I replaced, including the entire oil pan, it ended up being the rear main seal plate and rear main seal.

Everything I fixed appeared to reduce the oil leaks, but when we put some UV dye in the oil, we able to confirm the oil was still leaking not only from the rear main seal, but the rear main seal PLATE, as well.

Replacing the entire rear main seal plate with included rear main seal stopped my remaining oil leak.

Put that UV dye in the crankcase, drive around for about 100 miles, then check for leaks with a UV light.

Worked for me.

I used to be able to find them on eBay,but not anymore. I always catch a snow bank with them and the front ones crack.

Snugged up the two long bolts at the rear of the pan and it seemed to have stopped leaking. Last thing I wanted was to snap the heads off of those two bolts. Don't have a torque wrench.

This reminded me of something.

Did you apply gasket sealant in the corners of the oil pan when you put the oil pan back on?

That was the only spots my mechanic applied any sealant.

I did not. Did some reading and it was 50/50 on applying sealant or not. I did go with a genuine GM gasket tho'.

I hear you.

My mechanic is an old school former GM dealer mechanic that knows a lot of the old school tricks that may not be in the book.

So far, I have learned a lot from him and I approve of the things I have seen him do.

I hope you have solved your leak issues.

Mine drove me crazy until they were finally resolved.

Was making me crazy too, knowing I had a leak of any kind. Now I need to get some new tire pressure sensors...that light on the dash is making me mental.

I have read on some other forums, mainly from folks who track their cars and swap their tires often, they will install the sensors in a three or so inch PVC pipe, cap it off on both ends and then pressurize it.  They'll keep it permanently in the trunk.  This way they don't need to mess with continually resetting it.  Not assuming you don't care about the accuracy, but if you goal is to merely do away with he light, this is an option without having to unmount and remount the tires.

There is a member here in the forum that has tried this and he reported that the sensors stop working in short order.

It appears the sensors go to sleep if they do not experience the centrifugal force of the turning tires.

Sounds good, but no bueno.

That is how the TPSM's work on my 96 Corvette. No batteries needed, they just produce a signal as the wheels spin.

Hmm, good to know.  Glad my rides are old enough to not have the sensors.  My wife's car on the other hand...

Replaced the fuel filter today on my 2002 2500 series.
This job was a bit of a mission. There are so many things in the way...and trying to avoid getting soaked in freezing cold gasoline didn't make things any easier! Filter looked factory original. Truck now has 170,000 miles. Decided to cut open the filter as it was very difficult to blow through, so I wanted to see what was in there. Pleats were completely saturated in grey goop. The cartridge has started to collapse in the middle from the fuel pressure. Lol  :4:

I'm fairly certain it was.
The markings on it looked like the ones you'd ordinarily see on an original piece.
Kind of like when I did the spark plugs a while back. They looked bone stock. Lol!

Nice!
Wish there were more enthusiasts around these parts.
A guy at work just recently scrapped a 2004 Avalanche 1500 not long after spending a boatload of money on it.
He then bought a F**d  ::)

All four brake lights, turn.  High beam and headlight wires together.  Light bar switch panel in c d compartment. Custom by another member. Goodyear Duratrac  265/75/R16.  Fit like a glove, and fill the wheel wells perfect. 285 was just a smidgen to large.      All , thanks with the help of another member.  Good people.
