I am cleaning and oiling the Air filter, Seafoaming the intake and oil and cleaning the MAF today. Yesterday she got a bath, not a very good one. I find it hard to wash in 100 degree weather, and I cannot find a good car wash in the fresno area.

I am scheduling an appointment for her to go to the SPA for the day. She is going to get a message and wax. Have her insides deep cleaned and shampooed, then have a Teflon clear coat applied. I think she has earned such a wonderful treatment. Then next week she goes in for a Tranny and oil cooler to be installed. I am hoping by next month to have my rear air suspension parts in, so I can install them.

Got any how-to's? I'd like to do both. Where did you get your electric fans and where did you hook them up to?

I purchased mine from FF Dynamics about 2 years ago. They come with a complete wire harness. They are pretty easy to install. I purchased my brakes from Summit racing and painted the calipers. Again over 2 years ago.

I got the fan local for $100 and the harness came from Black Bear Performance for $100, the PCM has to be reprogrammed in order to run the fans through the PCM like a factory setup....Black Bear did that as well for $250. If you have the 105 amp alternator you will also need a bigger one to run the efans (130-145amp) I didn't do this all at once, it was spread out one part at a time over a 2 year period to keep the mods under my wifes radar....Haha

I started a thread about the brakes http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php/topic,122524.0.html
if any questions about parts numbers for this just let me know.

I installed a 200 amp alternator before I did my fan upgrade also. my fans are controlled with a temp probe in the radiator. Then you just set the temp for when you want the fans to turn on. I have mine set for 185. They turn on automatically with the ac.
I paid $ 200 for the fans with everything and a lifetime warranty and they guarantee your ride will not over heat. You can see what they look like in my sig.

It looks like the kit that you have has no shroud?

That is because the fans are bigger than other kits and if you think about it a shroud actually blocks the air from coming thru. It re-routes the air towards the fan. The setup I am running allows the air to just flow through the radiator with no obstructions. My Av runs at 165* with the Ac on and the outside temp over 100*.

Wow Shane, you mod more that I do. Wish I had your Mod fundage! Did you ever take the CAI off? I still think the drop in filter does better on low end torque.

No I kept it on and have learned to just live with it. I did notice after changing the PCV valve and cleaning the MAF and air filter that it is a lot better. I also realized today that I need to get a lift and not worry about the paint if I am going to do any severe off roading. I found out today that a simple level lift is not enough to go rock climbing with. So I am going to have to save up for a 6" lift and tires.
Oh yea I have been doing these mods for the past 6 years.

My back wont handle doing the waxing on the Av so i have to pay for that. I am taking it in a couple weeks to get a complete detail inside and out with a polish and wax.
Then I am just gonna go out and off road it again, but it is the thought that counts.

listened to my muffler rot in half and blow the rear pipes out.... Melting my over load bag... pop pstttttt..... then lost all the air in a trailer tire , pop.  that then snapped a trailer leaf spring befor pulling over....... Slowed down a bit and drove another 120 miles on the spare tire..

Parked on the driveway of my hopefully, future house!!  :A:

The future house:

3 bedroom and two bath

2 car (but 1 AV) garage!!  :4:

open floor plan

thermador gas stove

Jenn-aire fridge

Bosch dishwasher

Roman style shower

Spa on the screened lanai

Spanish tile roof

Community pool, rec hall, gym, and tennis courts

own boat slip (but costs $67,000)  :E: so it would be house plus boat slip :E:

Starting the process to purchase!! Let the games begin!!  :P

No house!!!! My credit is worthless!! But I do have a 0% debt to income ratio!!  :4: Damn collections!! :beating:

Alaska_AV's story was similar to mine, but I didn't have any truck problems.

Took a Mustang to the scrap yard yesterday.  On the way home lost a tire on the trailer.  Didn't have the spare, so I drove the final 10 miles home on 3 wheels (on the trailer :))
