The wood cover on top was my original "kennel" for the dogs, but I wanted them to have cooler air, especially while the truck wasn't moving.  The air conditioner can be operated either with this wooden "kennel-top" or with the stock bed cover.

I can leave the unit running without leaving the truck running, as the power supply is hooked to the power block under the hood for constant power, controlled by the switch in the dash.

I installed front and rear mud flaps.  They should be standard.  I also bought a new locking receiver with a 2" ball.

Why should they be standard? Some think they are hideous and don't do much good anyway. Your Avy will still get muddy.

That's a fair question....

My Avy gets mud on it as soon as I drive it down the street.  Mine is  White Diamond and it shows all the dirt and debris kicked up from the front and rear tires.  I realize that it will get dirty but I hate putting out a lot of effort to clean my truck and it looks dirty the first time I drive it.   Weather or not it's standard equipment, it's just my opinion.

I've heard about this white buffalo in the Avalanche world and now it seems like my eyes have finally seen it.

Is that a six speed manual transmission shifter I am looking at in these pics?
If so then you really are the man.

You are really the guy for one off ideas for your truck.
This and the quadra-steer Avalanche must be two of the rarest ones out there

Added deflector to the sun roof. Changed the driver side heated seat switch to correct a issue. Changed the passenger side door panel (twice) the bracket for the window and door locks switch was broken. Tomorrow replace the side steps.

Finally got this done.
Made a few tweaks to the original design to fit with the overall theme.

What are you doing to replace the steps. I also took mine off to replace but when looking at the options out there, I find that the ones comparable to the factory ones are really expensive. Therefore I decided to replant mine with LineX truck bed coating and add a few coats of paint to match the painted cladding properly before the LineX coating dries completely.

The LineX should theoretically withstand the abuse the steps see on a day to day basis.

They are being replaced with Westin bars, flat and black.

Yes...I would be the man.  I've been fighting The Man my whole life...kind of ironic, don't you think?  Anyway, that is a 6 speed manual trans shifter you see there. So...who's got the quadra-steer Avalanche? This I've got to see...

I don't know about you guys but it does make a difference in mine.
after putting the my rims and tires on, They turned out to be sticking out approximately 1/4 inches.
Looking at the tires you will barely notice it but I did have dirt and gravel hitting the body so hard I could hear it in the cab. Adding the mud guards stopped most of that.

...and Hummer wheels to boot!

So, what's the build on this? Was the Avalanche body dropped onto a quad-steer Silverado frame or was the Avalanche rear and running gear swapped out for quad-steer parts?  Very cool!
