It's the current draw (or lack of it). With both lamps on you have enough current to stabilize the circuit, but with only one lamp on there simply is not enough. That is why the resistors are added.
True.

I am on my second set of resistors as new resistors came complimentary with the LEDs.
I may need to check for loose connections but I am just being lazy right now.

It is on my to do list along with my HID fog light wiring but it is not high on my list of priorities right now.

Since it is warm out, I plan to take my soldering iron to it soon as those wire taps that were provided tend to cut the lamp wiring

Started my Bike rack for the Bed covers build today.
Just found 2 gently used Yakima Frontloader bike racks on Craigslist.
Managed to bring the price down to $100 each including the key and Key cores.
Scheduled to pick them up after work today
I think it is a pretty good deal.
What do you guys think?

considering i am about done with my bike rack and i am at a hundred.... but its taken a year and a half to get this far  :E: i would say its a pretty good deal

LOL.
I've already doubled your price and I don't have a way to mount it to the Avy yet.
Looking at eBay I can get 2 pairs of q clips for $40.00 and a roof rack off craigslist for another $100.

That'll mean approx. $340 spent total.

I just tried to build the same setup on Yakima's website and the total in my cart including shipping is $719.99
They need  :beating:

Installed my back-up cam to help with the numerous times I have to hook up my trailer!

Usually I have a tinted cover for my plate, but my plate screws were not long enough to go through the cam AND the cover....so I will be getting longer screws soon so i can put the cover back on.

I also installed my dual pillar pod with my Glow Shift trans temp gauge.
The gauge is not hooked up to anything yet because I am not sure where the sensor is supposed to go on the transmission! lol
(Anyone have any ideas?  :P)

Installed a Battery Tender JR. hard wired so I can just plug in an ext. cord whenever I don't use the truck for a while. I have a ton of options direct to the battery, so it doesn't take long to drain it if I don't start it for a week or two.

1st pic shows where I tie wrapped it to the frame just aft of the driver's side tow hook. 2nd pic shows where I hooked the ground. The 3rd shows the quick disconnect if I'm not going to use it for a while. I ran the positive under the fuse box cover and piggy backed it to the battery input stud.

Took it to Chevy and had em change the oil, top off all fluids, and a new air cleaner. I get home and double check the fluids, I checked the rear diff, 3/4 pint low!!!!! Damn you chevy dealership! Lazy bums! I was so pissed. I never bothered to check since i've had the dealer service it every 3k miles since I bought it. Im heading to San Antonio next weekend to float the river, so I was just curious to check everything before my 1100 mile roundtrip. 100 point inspection my ass. Double check their work!!! You never know!!!

Had that same problem.
Had to pull the trays back a bit for the bike to fit without hitting the cladding.
The end if my tray sticks out about 2-3 inches past the tailgate.
It's not further out than the rear bumper though so that's OK

Oh and I just noticed that both my trays endcaps seem to be missing already  :E:

I do have two lock cores for the bike trays so I can lock the bike when mounted on but no cores for the rack.
Plan on giving Yakima a call to get the matching cores for the towers so I only need 1 key for everything.

Muahaha  :4: now to build the mounting plate

so here are my thoughts on this so far.... the strikers on ebay are $150
:needhug:

but if i can get the details on spacing between bars and what not i could easily build a set for around probably $30 like the aftermarket ones shown here

then mount those to a thin (probably like a 12ga) plate bent at a 90 angle on each side just under the width of the bed with holes to bolt it to the sides on the bed with even bolt spacing so it can be turned around enabling the seats to face either way
