Added LED's to the bed and saddle bags. Went with amber but the camera phone pics dont show the brightness of them. Plenty of light to see whats hiding in there. Wired up to a simple switch powered off the trailer plug.

   Nice mod...

I'm starting my LED conversion! I ordered LEDs to replace all the 194s and a pair for the back up lights. I changed out the back up lights and tomorrow I'll be on to changing the interior 194s and license plate bulbs.

Apologies for the crappy pic...I forgot to wipe the lens before I snapped it.  :beating:

Easiest addition to my av...added a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cable so I can listen to mp3s from my phone. Thought I would have to do this: http://chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php/topic,93646.0/all.html in order to listen to mp3's but luckily my Kenwood amp had an extra RCA jack input ;) So I picked me up a 12ft of these:

...and lined the wires from my back seat (where the Kenwood is located) to under the dash and out the front near the ashtray and voila! Instant mp3 aux access ;)

After having several of my chrome center caps "borrowed" and never returned, I decided against buying any more chrome center caps with the Cadillac emblem, only to have them go missing again.

I decided this time to buy a full set of just plain chrome center caps to fit my wheels in hopes that maybe without the Cadillac emblem they are going to be less likely to end up on someone else's hooptie.

I got a set of four for less than the cost of a single replacement cap with the emblem.

I should be able to replace these for a heck of a lot less when they get borrowed.

I think they look OK.

I know some of you don't care for chrome, but some of us old guys kinda dig it.

Finished installing the small interior LEDs and ordered the festoons for the puddle, dome and cargo lights. Should be here by Wednesday!

Well yesterday was a sad day indeed.

It could have been worse though so I'm grateful for that.
This is the first time in all my years of owning the avalanche that it has ever been towed.

I hope it ends up being a quick and easy fix.  It sounds like you could use some good luck.

Yeah. At least the tow truck was a Chevy. I would have hated it more if it was a Dodge or Ford
