Yesterday September 05.
TheArsenal33 is stationed in Coos Bay Oregon with the Coast Guard.
Got to love a man that keeps us safe and saves lives.
Took TheArsenal33 and Em on a 300+ mile look and see of Oregon.
We meet up in Springfield, took HWY 126; McKenzie Pass to Sisters, East to Bend onto HWY 97 South, at Crescent took the HWY 58 Cutoff Road, onto HWY 58 South; taking the Willamette Pass to Eugene.
We spilt at I-5 they south the wife and I north.
The trip for me was 448 miles and just over 9 hours on the timer.
I left the camera at home :beating: TheArsenal33 and Em took many. TheArsenal33 will post.
We saw a lot of nice AVY?s, one set of Ambers just out of Springfield, no wave backs.

Hey JV, sorry soooooo slow to post these but I had some vacation left to enjoy!
Em and I can't thank you enough for the wonderful tour of "CENTRAL" Oregon!
We really hope you guys can join us for Crater Lake. Poss sometime in Oct.
There was lava, rivers, mountains, lakes, wildlife, covered bridges, picnic with fresh garden veggies.....and perfect cruising weather in perfect cruising trucks.

Some pics to follow....

Thanks again JV and I'll give ya a shout in a few days.
Brian

I have lots more JV, and I sent most of them to your email.
The pics never do any justice in my opinion. Always better in person.
The bottom pic is a single lane paved road we found, got on in central Oregon and it took us almost all the way to the coast....NOT A SINGLE CAR FOR ALMOST 2 HOURS! Granted we couldn't go 55mph but we didn't want to. This was the last day of the holiday weekend, I bet people we clogged on the highways while we were cruising along the forgotten road.

Brian,
You will have to send me where the last drive is.
I bet it would be unforgettable when the trees change.
Thanks for the pics.  :B: AVYs in the wild how   is that.
JV

I do believe it was Siuslaw Rvr Road or Upper Siuslaw rvr road...and Fall is almost upon us...I'll check the map again to be sure and get back to ya.

You really need to make the crater lake run. I can make that one... If you've never had the chance to see it, it's simply jaw dropping amazing.

He's right on that one, it's the most beautiful lake I have ever seen. Being ex-militarry and a military brat, I've traveled all over this earth and I stilll say it's the best.  (y)

Hey guys,
Trust me...it's at the top of my list.
Prob going to head over there sometime later this month or early Nov.

JV (or anyone else that's interested) -Any chance you could make this drive?

Brian,
I'm going to check out the Parks website and see when they close the road.
I think it would be so breath taking with deep snow all around.
I will hook my tow straps to you so you will not get lost out in the wild.
If you want to go earlyer let me now.
JV

Checked out the Crater Lake's web site. Seems everything closes by mid-October.
The roads are open until heavy snow. How well dose a 6k lb truck do in snow.
Lets try and see what is the best option to meet up.
Brian it is your call.
JV

Playing in the snow is great fun and you can count me in!
I have some great memories of wheeling in the winter in my old Silverado back in Michigan.... >:D
Haven't had the Avy in anything to deep yet so this should be interesting.
Are weekends your only options?
Brian

P.S.- Congrats on 100K, she doesn't look a day over 20 miles!  :B:

Brian I could take couple of days at the end or beginning of the week.
The biggist thing is on get over a pass to the park, HWY 58 or 138.
58 is the most traveled with the ski resort there.
JV

Just looking at my schedule...
The earliest Em and I can both make this drive is Oct 31-Nov 2. That Sunday/Monday we have off.
Hope that's not too late in the season....
Brian

The 31st looks good my last soccer game is the 30th.
I will talk it over with Shelley, just hope there will be snow. :woot:
What would be the next Sunday/Monday for you and EM
I'm also sending you a PM.
JV

Don't know my schedule for November yet but I'm sure Em and I will have a Sun/Mon off sometime that month...if you wanted to wait for more snow that is... >:D

Brian

You dispatch right.
Send  one out weekly to check snow levle.  >:D
