i'm headed to loudon race track to watch a friend race his car... my AV has 700 miles on it, is it too soon to see what it can do?

I would say it's early.... wait until you got ~5K miles on it or at least after the first oil change. Are you talking about drag races or going around the track?

General rule of thumb is give your drivetrain 500 miles to season a bit before taking it to the track so you are good to go.  I bought a new Camaro SS/RS Saturday & already have 250 miles on it so it will be at the track VERY soon. I plan on running my AV that I bought 2 weeks ago as well.
