I have an 04 Z66, got to 275,500 before having to replace motor with a new Jasper ready for 400,000 + now.

Cracks in the heads became to big and lost my water pump all in the same week.

New engine runs great though.

If you don't mind. How much did that new engine cost you?  FYI - I have an 08 z66 385k original motor

bought my 02 z66 3 or 4 years ago with 324,000mi knowing it may need an engine and trans (orginal engine and trans I was told) for $2,000.  tk went form sellers house on rollback to my mechanic, minor isuses only. I clicked over to 390,000 this week. looking for at least 1/2 million >:(

Ol' Yellar joined this club last night.  I've personally rebuilt the transmission (took it out for rebuild a bit over 200K) and had my mechanic drop in an ATK High Performance 6.0L, 460 hp, 470 ft-lb at 289K.  Still love driving the old girl.

Wow. These high-mileage stories are encouraging. I recently bought an '04 1500 Z71 with 163k miles. Looks like with proper maintenance and TLC, I've still got a long way to go yet!

It is my right, Honor and duty to report to you all that my 2004 Z71 Avalanche has crossed the next mountain on the odometer, the 300,000 mile mark. Since these threads are worthless without pictures I offer this as evidence I have owned my truck now for 5,081 days and now over 300k miles. My truck purchase brought me an extended family and my own family. It is a testament to regular maintenance and fixing stuff before it breaks. In 300k miles it has NEVER not started upon demand and has NEVER been towed in disgrace. There is only 1 part that REALLY needs some love. The driver seat! Otherwise I'll keep on rolling toward 400k 1 day at a time.

354,139 miles but finally had to replace engine. 2 dead cylinders but I can't complain So I found an engine with 72k miles and put in If it gives me at lease half of the original I will be happy. Truck still looks good so hoping for the best!

Getting close on mine... 273k...

Only thing I have done on my engine is replace the cracked castech heads at about 260k miles.. Still running strong... Did PM on drivetrain, rear diff, trans, transfer case but otherwise no major repairs.

Still cheaper than buy a newer truck...

And still going strong. Actually better than when I bought it 100k miles ago.
