Finally decided to go ahead with my ipad install. It will be a floating magnetic mount with audio streamed through bluetooth with heater control relocation. Here is a list of the gear that will be going in:

Ipad 3
Jvc kd-a95bt head unit
Jvc ks-kra100 sat radio interface
Sirius scc1 sat radio
Axxess SWC interface

I will take pics throughout the process

I want to do this soo bad been researching it alot on youtube! Keep us posted please

You now might have to make more.  (y) not sure the bottom controls/ power outlets are the same size when the washer fluid heater switch is added. Maybe measure the control so I can compare.

Lornes,

I'm pretty sure the dimensions of that panel are the same wit or without thatswitch.Ii have to take it apart again tomorrow so I can take a measurement for you.

Wow that's tits!! I would love to try something like that but I feel like I'd make more of a mess than anything

Great work  (y)

Can you charge the icrap (sorry, not a big apple fan) while it's mounted in there?

Thanks for the compliments.

This particular install does not charge the ipad. I decided against the charging option this time bc I wanted to try the quick release mount on this install.  I have a usb plug in the center console that is avaiable to charge when needed.

The other ipad installs ive completed allow charging. To have the charging option, it would  require me to cut out all oF the mounting holes that secure the radio and controls.

This is totally SICK!!! Badddddd-A$$$$

Nice job man, really nice finish work on that glass bezel...do we dare ask how many hours (days) of sanding it took?

One question: the back-end of the atermarket stereo - how did you clear the stuff under the center tray such as vent/wires, etc?

Thanks.

Glassing the pan, bondo, sand, and paint probaly took approx 16-24hrs. But thats with drying time too.

My truck came as a six seater and I had to buy the oem center console. It desnt have any venting or bose wiring under there, so theres plenty of room. I did a tahoe with the same setup but it had the vents and wiring. I had to put the body of the radio in the oem radio cavity and extend the faceplate by soldering a ribbon cable to the pins
