I am wondering how can I disable the passenger airbag in my 2002 AV. I don't have a button on my dash that I can turn on/off with a key. Is there another way? :help:

A bit more detail, why are you doing this.

On the 02s you can't disable only one air bag. It's not a good idea to do it anyways.

I thought there was a sensor in the passenger front seat to disable airbag if no passenger or the passenger was a child?
Any other disabling could cause you problems legally if involved in an accident and it was proved that you disabled a safety device..... at least civil lawsuit claim issues.

02s do not have the sensor in the passenger seat.

I think you used to be able go to the dealer and they could add a key switch just below the COn Star button to disable it when nobody was in the front passanger seat or you had a child seat in the front..

Sensing System for Passenger
Airbag
The passenger sensing system, if equipped, will turn off
the right front passenger frontal airbag under certain
conditions. The driver airbags, seat‐mounted side
impact airbags and roof‐rail airbags are not affected
by this.
If the vehicle has one of the indicators pictured in the
following illustrations, then the vehicle has a passenger
sensing system for the right front passenger position.
The passenger airbag status indicator, if equipped, will
be visible on the overhead console when the vehicle is
started.
