Stopping rust above rear wheels

I've noticed the Avalanches like to rust out above the rear wheels and I don't want that to happen to me.  It looks like they're rusting from the inside out like the Ford super duty's do, but unlike the Fords I cant see where salt water gets up there from.

I was going to spray some oil up there but I can't tell how to get up there above the rear wheel well. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any thoughts or methods they use to slow down cancer on these trucks?

Actually we are chatting about this now, Shortly I'm going to see if I can find what can be done about it.

Oh thanks,  I guess I should post on that thread

Yeah my AV is 10 years old and I'll be damn if I loose it to rust.

While surfing the net I found a site that carries Patch panel for cladded AV

Looks like they make the panels for above the rear wheel and for the lower panel in front of the rear wheels under the cladding.

Now I know nothing about the store so you may want to call before buying anything.

I suspect my truck is rusting in the area in front of the rear tire so this is a good find.. I need to pull off my cladding to look under it but probably won't happen before nationals.
