OK, so I'm not new here, but I don't post much.  Figured I should make a thread though, as I have learned so much, now I want to help a little.  After long discussions with my wife, we've come to some compromises.  I'm on a budget, and want to change the color of the truck.  Currently it is a 2003 SOM w/ cladding.  So the first thing we're going to do is paint the cladding black (probably with satin Krylon) over the next few weeks.  I'm also ordering some pieces to change the exterior color to lime/atomic matte green.  Heres my thoughts, do the trim black, keep the chevy logo on front green, and do custom z71 vinyl in black, but can't seem to figure out what to do with the "Chevrolet" on the back.  Do you think doing it black would work?  Serious debates I'm having.  Sorry I can't seem to find somebody whos done this by themselves to an avalanche.  The total cost for the wrap should be 200 bucks, plus the stuff to do it-cutting tools, Knife tape, heat gun.  I figured have about 300 into it, but it'll allow me to do it over and over again, plus I can do it for others/friends.  Anyway, just starting a thread to say hi, and I'll keep you all informed on how it goes.

For those unfamiliar with the process its all over youtube, and after some tutorial videos, I'm pretty sure I can do it, and if you want to see some really cool stuff, look up the knife tape!

Heres the color on a really cool GMC:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFEqbRl_RQE

Mine is wrapped matte metallic dark grey.  Luckily for me my buddy owns the vinyl wrapping shop so I only have about $800 in mine.  My roll of vinyl was $550 of that.  What brand vinyl are you planning on getting?  $200 for vinyl seems awfully cheap.  Granted I don't have cladding so maybe I needed a bigger roll of vinyl.

Also here is a pretty cool thing they did with my bowtie.  Trimmed out the black in the middle after wrapping it.

I just realized your in Arvada! I'm in Evergreen and work in Littleton.

Anyway I have played with some vinal wrapping and done some on the interior with really complex curves just seeing what I could do. Some works out other is yet to be attempted again soon.  As far as your rear logo I could possibly give some i site on that as I made my own.

Thank you for that link!  That gives me exactly what I was looking for.

As for prices, well on ebay, its 5'x200' avril I believe, toxic green matte or satin.  After reading, I'll have to go a bit bigger, but still nothing over that 300 dollar mark.  Honestly, after all the reading and videos and seeing how far its come since they first started doing this, I think I want to do this as a side business when I get better!  I'll post pics as the material comes in and give more acurate pricing information.  Heres where I'm looking at different kits from and I've seen a million videos on Youtube so far:

The green--More expensive here than on ebay, but I'm going to measure out the truck tonight to get a better price/information on what I need.

I measured the surface area of the truck.  About (and this is very rough math) 165 square feet.  So if I do it like hardwood,  say I order 200 just to be safe or 225 to mess with interior. Not that bad at all.

Example of 500 ft for 400 bucks

Sorry for the delays,  but I'm working. Had some issues with school and personal stuff.  For all those interested,  you can go to vvivid,  you can get 5'?50' for 250 bucks. If they don't have the color you want you can call them and they'll take care of it.

Started by doing the hood this weekend.  Can't say enough about the stuff.  Harder than I pictured but not too bad.  I have a few bubbles that I have to fix but with a good heart gun and some patience,  and a friend to help you lift,  this can be an easy process. Once I get photo bucket I'll post pics

I've been meaning to take my camera to work and get photos of the ugliest custom green Avalanche on the planet.

Since I'm finally getting back around, I'm going to say this.  It started out great, but I unfortunately smashed a mail box with the truck, took the green right off the side.  I'm not shelling out more money for more green as well as the new fender I need, the repairs to two doors and a quarterpanel.  So, instead, looks like spray on bedliner is going to be my new friend.  Anybody have any experience with the duplicolor bed armor?
