I just rcently purchased a 04 z71 Avalanche and it had an aftermarket cd player that was not hooked up. I bought a new Pioneer double Din Cd player and installed with a GMOS04 converter for the OnStar system. I hooked up all the wires correctly (I Believe) according to a video i saw on youtube and the unit powers on, cuts off when i press the OnStar button and cuts off when I open my door so i assume the GMOS 04 is working properly. The problem I am having is there is no sound coming out unless i crank the volume all the way up and even then it is very low and sounds muffled. I have checked all wire connections and everything, I found info online saying there may be a secondary amp installed inside the truck that may not be working? Please help, I would live to be able to enjoy the new (to me) truck i purchased.

Try this.
Connect a speaker right to the back of your new radio speaker outputs.
if it works on each one then I would just run new wires.
