Just purchased and they are pretty faded.  Any ideas on maintaining the black look?  Does anyone know if after markets plastic rear compartments are available?? Please help!!!

First welcome to the website!

I have never seen aftermarket bed panels as a direct replacement for AV panels. There are a few companies that make other styles of bed covers but you have to deal with instillation with their hardware and may have to remove stock mounts.
There are very many threads about detailing the Av and different ways to finish the bed panels. Cheapest and easiest way to restore the panels is to use Refinish Restorer. It is a liquid finish that can last for several months or up to a year depending on UV and other weather exposure. The Refinish Restorer is easy to apply (panels must be cleaned well to remove other products like back to black etc.) and doesn't run onto the paint in the rain. They also give discounts on being a sight member too.

Many things have been tried with not much success such as floor wax, peanut butter, and other blackening products. early fixes by GM included a product called Gatorback (which could scratch like paint.)
Some members had a sign shop print large vynil sheets and stuck them on the panels(similar to a wrap or decal) to cover the panel.
Others have sprayed on bedliner such as Line-x and others sanded their bed panels and had them painted.

Good luck with your choice and hope you have many happy and safe miles in your AV

I believe BAK still makes after market ones, but they aren't cheap.
