OBD2 Port powered through cigarette lighter fuse

Hey, I just learned the hard way that the OBD2 port on a 2004 avalanche is powered through the cigarette lighter fuse. I could not get the OBD2 port to respond to the scan tool until I replaced the blown fuse for the cigarette lighter.
