Hi gang, I'm going to be a future Avalanche owner as I'm buying my bro-inlaw's 2002 ride. One of the first things I have to do is replace the seized caliper on front driver's side.  I look at Autozone and they show bracketed and non-bracketed calipers.  What's the difference?  Which one should I get?  Thanks in advance.

Paul

The bracketed caliper have the caliper bracket on them, I highly recommend you get them since it's only 5 bucks more. One of the hardest jobs is to clean the old  bracket to get the caliper to slide right.

If you are going to that extent you may want to check out this thread before you do anything:

Well worth the effort...

I second what redheadedrod says, the GMT900 upgrade will be a big improvement and if you need most front brake parts anyway it's a no brainer!

Thanks, I'll probably look into this when I am ready to work on it full time.  I just want to get it home safely, I'm buying it from someone who's left the front passenger caliper seized so I'm going to replace and bleed.

Same as on it
I never hear of that I buy I install no problem
Ps don't over tighten bleeder
