Gatorback is an old fix the dealerships in my area tried several years ago. The success depended on the prep work done before the application and then afterwards it had to be treated like any painted surface in that it will scratch like any paint and reveal the finish underneath. For the members on this website who tried changing their 2002 light cladding to a darker finish they discovered the scratches really showed up due to wear and it had to be reapplied.
Most members who want to refinish their cladding use Refinish Restorer and apply it about once a year. Or they consider sanding and painting like the Caddillac EXT or the 2013 AV.
