Multiple issues: brake lights, Stabilitrack, cruise control...

I have multiple electrical issues:  It started with the "Stabilitrack" message, something about "service traction control system".  From there it has progressed to the brake lights staying on, which has led to the cruise control not working (since the brake lights are on, I assume).  This morning I just saw a "Service Trailer Brake system" message.  From talking to a few folks and reading this forum, it looks like I've got a "control module" issue.  Anybody have any experience with this?  I do not have the time or expertise to repair this myself so it looks like I''m headed to the dealer.   I would really appreciate any tips or advice.  My truck is a 2010 LTZ with 4WD.   Thanks in advance !

you might try disconnecting the battery for awhile, to reset the computers and see if that helps, just a thought.

Ground wire(s) come to mind.

I recently went through a similar scenario.  All kinds of crazy things happening and the only relationship seemed to be electrical.  Had the dealer check and he recommended changing the battery cables.  They tested as having high resistance and he told me it was not uncommon

$500 later, new battery cables installed and no more issues.

Good Luck!

You didn't mention a year, but since you have a message about Service Trailer Brake System, it sounds like it's definately 2007+ generation.

I read about a connector on the frame rail that connects all of these systems. Check out blu_fuz's posts here
