« on: 04/17/17 01:29 pm »

In an effort to help Savannah and the surrounding community,
The Charity we decided to help this year is :

America's Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia
2501 E. President St. Savannah, GA 31404..

This year we will be sponsoring another physical Food drive as well as a virtual Food drive (For those members who would like to donate but are unable to attend).  Info and link will be posted shortly on Virtual Food drive

Physical Food Drive:

What we would like to do is have everyone bring non perishable Food items to the GTG..  Could be a few grocery bags filled with non perishable foods..  Would be especially great if it could be holiday related items..
Such as canned yams, vegetables, cranberry sauce, canned meats etc..

--------------------------

Virtual Food Drive.
If You are not able to make the GTG you can still help out Second Harvest!!

There is a notations section please include that you are part of the Avalanche Family
------------------------------------------------

As part of our commitment to Second Harvest we will be assisting them for a few hours on Saturday October 14th prepping donations for distribution later that week.
In turn Second Harvest is supplying us with a meeting location for our Raffle, as the conference center at the hotel is contracted to other groups.
** We are hoping to have the drop-off and work covered by local media outlets.  **
Can you imagine having several AVs filled to the gills with food, being escorted by 10 plus other vehicles??  That would be AVESOME to say the least..!!!!

Second Harvest was very appreciative of everyone’s support.

Had a combined total weight of over 426# of food donated.
One top of the $561 in donations from the weekend activities.
The will result in over 2800 meals for those in need!!

Yes I did say 2800 meals!!!
