Just got my trans rebuilt on my 03. Now it makes a hard clunk when switching from reverse to drive and vice versa. Not from park to reverse or park to drive. I see a lot of replies say u-joints. Would this be a strange coincidence right after I got my trans rebuilt or you think its more along the lines that the trans wasn't done correctly. The truck shifts fine. It just sounds like its gonna clunk right off the bottom of the truck.  Thanks.

The guy who rebuilt my transmission is stating that the clunk is coming from my transfer case. This wasn't a problem before. Can someone explain to me how rebuilding the transmission screws up the transfer case. (I'm not a gear head, simple terms please) :help:

Ask him why didn't he say something when it was in the shop

They have to remove xfer case to get the tranny out... so things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmm...

and I am trying to think of what is inside there to go CLUNK......

Does your 4x4 actually work?
