I contacted a GM navigation site representative ,[http://gmnavdisc.navigation.com/web/WFS/Shop-GMNA-Site/en_US/-/USD/ViewHomepage-Start], they informed me that they have no idea when a new nav disc for 2012-2013 avalanche will be available, the last time it was updated was in 2015.
I contacted Crutchfields and they do not have an components available that can interface with an existing oem Bose w/ navigation system that would be able to use apple carplay. I did find a company called NAVTool that has a component, [[/url]http://www.navtool.com/chevrolet-avalanche-2012-2013-apple-carplay.aspx], that should work with my avy.
My question is, has anyone used this equipment and if so what was your experience with it. And if not were you able to find a plug and play system that does work with the oem. Thanks

Here is something that might interest you and others:

Why you ask?

Well you can add one of these for instance:
https://car-solutions.com/en/q-roi-navigation-box-on-android-for-oem-monitors.php

Which would provide full Android capabilities to your factory Navigation system.
Used the screen as well as the touch screen.. Essentially allowing you to go full Android.

Does require you to connect to the Aux input on your Nav radio to get sound but otherwise your good to go.
The Interface box allows you to add additional stuff as well. Such as front and rear cameras and more.

Note, I haven't done this myself but plan to in the near future for my '09 CTS.
