White Mountains Cruise Interest
« on: 08/02/18 09:12 PM »

Well it sure has been a while since I last tried to organize one of these, but I figured I'd ask to see if there is any interest in going up to the White Mountains to see the wonderful colors of the fall.

We could be a possible. The AV rust will blend in with the foliage.

Possible date may be after Columbus day, but really depends on the leaves, and with all the rain it is probably going to be a late date this year.

I was in Northern Vt last weekend - slight colors showing on some red/swamp maples.

Possible for September 22 depending on what happens with jury duty on the Friday before.  29th is already spoken for on my calendar.

Ok, so far it looks like the weekend of Sept 22nd is the more popular.

I just looked at the 2018 Foliage Prediction Map, https://smokymountains.com/fall-foliage-map/ and Sept 24th is showing only patchy to partial colors, so I will leave it up to everyone else, whether to wait or to go anyway.

Ok I get it I think.  Been on here all night looking at old posts. New posts.  So you have a gtg.  You all meet at one place at a certain time .then proceed to where ever it is your going. Stop .eat hang out. Then leave.go home .  Well. I'm crazy. You'll all find this out when we meet.  I do things big.  I'm planning on staying till Monday afternoon to later.  So.. with that said. If the white mountains, kancamancus highway is our destination per say.  I need to know so I can book room somewhere near.  Meet up with everyone of you fine people then when everyone starts to depart. That's when I can go to the hotel.  And that's when the party begins. Lol.  So if someone can inform me of the itinerary.   It would be much appreciated. And if there is another crazy out there let's hang out for couple days and enjoy new hampshire.

This is a family friendly gtg.  I've actually stayed at hotels around concord in the past after the gtg. Sometimes we've gotten lunch before the cruise, other times we've met up in Lincoln after the cruise to get dinner.

So I would like to ask , does anyone have a preference? If it is lunch, in the past we've gone to the Pizza Barn, I do remember a number of people enjoyed eating the Farmer's Daughter. :4:

Found a bed and breakfast with a steak and ale bar in it. Right in Rochester.   Around the corner from that mall.  So I'm ready for either day. What do you need me to do to help out?

I'm heading up to Rochester Friday morning. If someone could either post where and when, or text me the info.  It would be appreciated. 401-641-1600.  ED
