Hello all,

My service manual has recommended mileage for scheduled service but not by time.

I dont put may miles on my Avalanche each year. What are your alls thoughts on time?

Only concerned about plugs and wires and fuel filter (60k in mamual).

Cheers

For the plugs and wires, I would still go by mileage.

They are not likely to wear out while not being used.

Anything dealing with fluids, I would go by time if mileage is minimal.

Once a year should be enough for a fuel filter, I would think.

Six months or so for oil and oil filter wouldn't hurt.

How deep are your pockets?

If trying to just get by:
I would go by mileage for everything
Except change oil once a year.
Do run truck once a month and drive it a bit to work everything and keep bearings happy.

If deep pockets
I would go by mileage for everything
Except change oil once a year
coolant at least every 4 years.
Brake fluid once every 3-4 years

I'm in the same boat, it does not get many miles on it so l go by time.
Oil I change 4 times a year with the season change. But I make a point of driving it once a month for about 10 miles.
