Replacing front wheel bearings in a 2010 Z71

So I have two bad wheel bearings up front. When I went to the auto parts store the attendant told me that I needed to buy the whole hub assembly because the wheel bearing and hub assembly were one in the same thing. Is this true? The new set wood cost around $400!
 
yes.

Bearing comes preassembled into a hub assy that bolts to the knuckle.
Need torq wrench to properly install..

Also you will have to undo axle half shaft since 4wd.

Probably some pics on here or videos on you tube on how to do it.
much more simple then packing bearings and ensuring proper preload and castle nuts etc.
cleaner job too
