Front end rattle
« on: April 5, 2019, 20:06:39 PM »

I have a rattle coming from the front drivers tire side. Some bumps cause the noise. Others don't. Turning to the right makes the wheel feel wobbly in the steering. I've had it to 2 shops and both say there is nothing wrong. There is something not right. Jacked the drivers sideup on the frame. I've got about 1/2" play in the tire moving when hands are at 3 and 9. Everything seems tight. Suggestions?

I would start by finding a more competent shop to do business with.

From your description of 1/2 inch play would point toward a bad wheel bearing.

There may be more bad than just that.

And I don't understand how you can say you have 1/2 inch of play and then say everything seems tight.

There should be zero play.
