front drive shaft install, on 2010 av
« on: May 17, 2019, 18:23:16 PM »

Hi All;
trying to reinstall my front drive shaft today with no luck  :E: Front u joint broke out this pass winter here and just been fixing all the damage it did.
Now done the u joint at each end so I don't have to it again for long while I hope. So I can get shaft up and almost in place but it will not slide into the transfer case. What I'm doing wrong, can't see anything in the way. Must be missing something that is so easy. Any help would be super great miss driving my truck. :help: :B:

I would try using a BIG flat blade screwdriver and pry it in.

thanks, the problem was gear selector at tranny was bent out of shape, took it off and bent it back into shape. But put front drive shaft  back in with easy and then put back the gear selector. Now truck is running well. I took wife out shopping to day and she was happy with it and she did not need ride in sprinter van, hard for her get up into the van. lol :thumbsup:
