How the do I remove the handle from the midgate?

Silly question, but I'm trying to reinstall the factory midgate, but am having trouble removing the piece that sits atop the midgate (where the window sits). Here are some photos.

When the window is in place it depresses a latch above the handle inside the window channel. You can manually press on it with your finger and then turn the latch. This will disconnect the bar from the midgate.
