02 Window Regulator Motor Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the window.
  2. If the window motor is inoperable, remove the glass window to gain access to the window motor retaining screws. Refer to Window Replacement - Front Door. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Front Door.
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  4. Remove the door speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Door.
  5. Support the glass.
  6. Disconnect the wiring harness from the window regulator motor.

(Refer to the image below)

  7. Remove the 3 bolts (1) from the window motor located on the front side of the motor.

    Important: Do not allow the cable gear to come out of the housing. Failure will result in the cable coming off the spool.

  8. Separate the motor from the cable housing by wiggling the window motor.
  9. Observe the orientation of the window motor. Remove the motor from the window regulator assembly.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Install the window motor to the cable housing by wiggling it into place.

      Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the 3 bolts (1) to the window regulator motor.

      Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 5 N?m (44 lb in).

  3. Install the glass window, if removed. Window Replacement - Front Door
  4. Connect the wiring harness to the window regulator motor.
  5. Remove the window support.
  6. Connect the wire connector to the switch to inspect the operation of the window.
  7. After inspection disconnect the wire harness and continue the installation. Install the speaker. Refer to Speaker Replacement - Front Door.
  8. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  9. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Front Door .

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the window.

Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Rear Door​

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - Inside .
  2. Remove the window-regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .
  3. Remove the manual lock lever from the trim panel using a flat-bladed tool.

(Refer to the image below)

  4. Remove the 2 trim panel screws.
  5. Remove the trim panel from the door by carefully sliding the panel upward then outward.
  6. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Connect the electrical connectors, if necessary.
  2. Align the retainers with the holes in the door.
  3. Install the trim panel to the door by lowering the trim panel down into the retainer holes in order to seat the retainers.

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  4. Install the trim panel screws.

      Tighten
      Tighten the trim panel screws to 2 N?m (18 lb in).

  5. Install the manual lock lever by pressing the lever until the lever is completely seated.
  6. Install the window-regulator handle, if necessary. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .
  7. Install the door handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - Inside .

Speaker Replacement - 02 Rear Door​

Removal Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door in Doors.
  2. Remove the screws (1) retaining the speaker to the mounting bracket.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the speaker.
  4. Remove the speaker from the mounting bracket.
  5. Remove the bolts (2) retaining the speaker mounting bracket to the door, if required.
  6. Remove the speaker mounting bracket.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Install the speaker mounting bracket.

      Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the bolts (2) retaining the speaker mounting bracket to the door, if removed.

      Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 6 N?m (53 lb in).

  3. Install the speaker to the mounting bracket.
  4. Connect the electrical connector to the speaker.
  5. Install the screws (1) that retain the speaker to the mounting bracket.

      Tighten
      Tighten the screws to 2 N?m (53 lb in).

  6. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door in Doors.
  7. Verify the component operation.

Water Deflector Replacement - 02 Rear Door
Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove inside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside .
  3. Note location of wiring and remove through deflector.

(Refer to the image below)

  4. Using a flat-bladed tool, separate the bond between the sealer and the door.
  5. Pull the waterproof sealing tape from the deflector.
  6. Remove the water deflector.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Position the electrical connectors through the water deflector.
  2. Using waterproof tape, or 3M? 777, or equivalent, install the water deflector to the door.
  3. Install the trim panel to the door. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .

02 Window Replacement - Rear Door
Removal Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Partially raise the window.
  2. Remove the manual door-lock lever.
  3. (Remove the manual window handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .)
  4. Remove the power accessory switch panel. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .
  5. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door .
  6. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - (above post) .
  7. Remove the front bolt attachment from the window run channel.
  8. Loosen the retaining bolts (1) from the window assembly.
  9. Remove the window glass (2) from the door by sliding the window glass out through the top.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the image below)

  1. Install the window glass (2) to the door by sliding the window glass through the top of the door.

      Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Tighten the retaining bolts (1) to the window assembly.

      Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 12 N?m (9 lb ft).

  3. Install the window run channel bolt.

      Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 9 N?m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - (Previous Post) .
  5. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Door .
  6. Install the power accessory switch panel, (if equipped). Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .
  7. (Install the manual window handle if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .)
  8. Install the manual door-lock lever.
  9. Inspect the operation of the window.

02 Window Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Partially raise the window.
  2. Remove the upper trim panel extension. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  3. Remove the manual door-lock lever.
  4. Remove the manual window handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .
  5. Remove the power accessory switch panel, if equipped. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .
  6. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  7. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  8. Remove the front bolt attachment from the window run channel.

      Important: Do not remove the bolts.

  9. Loosen the 2 retaining bolts (2) from the window assembly.
  10. Remove the window glass (3) from the door by sliding the window glass out through the top.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the window glass (3) to the door.

  2. Tighten the 2 retaining bolts (2) to the window assembly.

    Tighten

  3. Install the window run channel bolt .

    Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 9 N?m (80 lb in).

  4. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  5. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Front Door .
  6. Install the power accessory switch panel. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .
  7. (Install the manual window handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement) .
  8. Install the manual door-lock lever.
  9. Install the upper trim panel extension. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  10. Inspect the operation of the window.

Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the front door.

(Refer to the first drawing below)

  2. Release the upper extension by pulling outward on the front edge in order to release the upper retainer clips.
  3. Remove the upper extension from the trim panel by lifting up and out.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the second drawing below)

  1. Position the lower retainer to the trim panel.
  2. Align the upper retainer clips to the door frame.
  3. Press inward on the upper extension until the clips fully engage securing the panel to the door.

Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Front Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the door handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - Inside .
  2. Remove the window handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .
  3. Remove the power accessory switch panel. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .
  4. Remove the upper extension of the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  5. Remove the manual lock lever from the trim panel using a flat bladed tool.
  6. Remove the trim panel screws.

(Refer to the drawing below)

  7. Remove the courtesy lamp, if equipped. Refer to Courtesy Lamp/Reflector Replacement - Door .
  8. Remove the trim panel from the door. Carefully slide the trim panel up in order to release the retainers from the door.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the drawing below)

  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the courtesy lamp, if equipped. Refer to Courtesy Lamp/Reflector Replacement - Door .
  3. Carefully align the panel, and slide the panel into the retainer slots in order to install the trim panel to the door.
  4. Install the window handle, if equipped. Refer to Window Handle Replacement .
  5. Install the power accessory switch panel. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

  6. Install the trim panel screws.

      Tighten
      Tighten the trim panel screws to 2 N?m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the manual lock lever to the trim panel.
  8. Install the upper extension of the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  9. Install the door handle bezel. Refer to Handle Bezel Replacement - Inside .

Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  2. Remove inside door handle. Refer to Door Handle Replacement - Inside .
  3. Note location of wiring and remove through deflector.

(Refer to the drawing below)

Removal Procedure

  2. Remove the speaker by pushing down on the top retainer.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the drawing below)

  1. Connect the electrical connector.
  2. Install the speaker.
  3. Push the speaker into place. Ensure that the speaker is completely seated. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Front Door.
  4. Inspect the component operation.

Module Replacement - 02 Rear Power Window

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - 02 Rear Door .
  2. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  3. Remove the window glass. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door .
  4. Remove the window sash.
  5. Remove the glass weatherstrip.

  6. Remove the module from the door.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the drawing below)

  1. Install the module to the door.
  2. Install the glass weatherstrip.
  3. Install the window sash.
  4. Install the window glass. Refer to Window Replacement - Rear Door .
  5. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Rear Door .
  6. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .

Module Replacement - 02 Front Power Window

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the window glass.
  2. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  3. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  4. Disconnect the harness from the electric window motor assembly.
  5. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the window glass to the regulator.

(Refer to the drawing below)

  6. Remove the bolts from the window regulator.
  7. Remove the window regulator assembly from the door by folding both sides of the window regulator assembly together.

Installation Procedure

(Refer to the drawing below)

  1. Position the regulator to the inside door structure. A slight twisting motion of the regulator is needed.
  2. Ensure the regulator is positioned firmly in the door.

      Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

    Important: Place Permatex Threadlocker, Part Number 24200, GM P/N 12345382, onto the regulator bolt threads prior to tightening.

  3. Install the bolts to the window regulator.

    Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 9 N?m (80 lb in).

  4. Align the window glass to the regulator.
  5. Install the bolts that hold the window to the regulator.

      Tighten
      Tighten the bolts to 9 N?m (80 lb in).

  6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  7. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  8. Lower the window and inspect the operation.

Wiring Harness Replacement - 02 Ft. Door

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Hinge Pillar in Interior Trim.

  2. Disconnect the cross car wiring harness.
  3. Remove the conduit.
  4. Remove the upper trim panel extension. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  5. Remove the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  6. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .

  7. Disconnect the following components:
        - The outside power mirror (1)
        - C203 (4)
        - P500 (5)
        - The speaker (6)
        - The power window motor (7)
        - The power lock switch (8}
        - The power window switch (9)
        - The power mirror switch (10)
        - The door lock actuator
  8. Remove the door wiring harness from the door by pulling the harness through the conduit (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the door wiring harness to the door by pulling connector 4 and connector 5 through the conduit (3).

  2. Connect the following components:
        - The outside power mirror (1)
        - C203 (4)
        - P500 (5)
        - The speaker (6)
        - The power window motor (7)
        - The power lock switch (8}
        - The power window switch (9)
        - The power mirror switch (10)
        - The door lock actuator
  3. Install the water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Front Door .
  4. Install the trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Front Door .
  5. Install the upper trim panel extension. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Upper Extension .
  6. Install the conduit.
