"Finally had to use my tow strap" posting started the discussion.

I'll check mine.  I don't remember exactly.

Left: 2 heavy leather gloves, 2 heavy wool blankets, heavy duty jumper cables.

Right: plug for towing, convert-a-ball receiver (pretty cool - you never have to get a wrench to switch between 1-7/8", 2" or 2-1/4" balls but is still rated in the 7,000lb class, Californina Car Wash duster, tow strap, Russian-looking winter hat (hey, it gets cold here and it's warm, Air Force issue)

Stuff Chevy gave me, recovery strap, empty sand bags, long pole ice scaper, jumper cables, tie downs, bungie cords, fix a flat, spotlight, plastic tarp.  Still enough room for some cold ones.

Passenger Side:  Jack equipment (duh), ratchet tie-downs (the best investment for a truck ever), trailer cable, rope

Driver Side:  Keepin' it empty for icy beverages (Memorial Day, July 4th, any convenient weekend...)

Those ratchet tiedowns ARE GREAT!!!!  Mine came in handy a few times already.

Right Side:  Craftsman toolkit ( fits like it was made for the space ), tow strap, heavy duty jumper cables, trailer wiring  harnesses.

Left Side:  2 blankets, First Aid kit, ice scraper.  The Richmond race is this weekend, so this stuff will come out to make room for the Bud and ice.  Taking the Av to Richmond will also give me an idea of highway gas mileage.

Let's see...in the right box I have a 12v air compressor for flats, jumper cables, 6 tiedown straps, leather gloves, roll of brown paper towels, whisk broom and the tire change stuff....

My left box is also reserved for frosty adult beverages... My capacity so far has been 24 bottles of Amstel Light plus enough ice to keep em cold till the next day...  Any more bottles than that and I don't think there would be enough ice... (Disclaimer:  I do not consume adult beverages and drive...well much anyway... Do not try this at home!)  My non-AV owner buddies absolutely love the ice chest feature as well....  Ain't life grand?

BTW, speaking of tire changing...  I had to change the RR two weeks ago while on a jaunt up to Wildwood FL from Fort Lauderdale. Picked up a durn hex-head sheet metal screw.  First time using the tire change system on the AV and it was a breeze.  Never having used the system before, it only took 25 minutes from start to everything stowed away again.  So far, this is the best vehicle I've ever owned, and I've owned a bunch, believe you me....  OK, enuff rambling...  Anyone else have to change a tire yet?  What was your experience with the system?

lanman1, I made a trip from Cali to Mo. in April.  I can say that they do hold a lot but by not being insulated the ice will change from a soild to a liquid pretty quick.  But filling it with two cases of beer and going to the ball game you should be allright.  Filling it to the top with ice and drinks, the ice should last btwn 4-6 hours on a hot day. :1:

Thanks, I was figuring on about 60 'beverages'.  Maybe this would bea good mod.  I could take apart the left side and fill the area arount the liner with expandible foam.  There seems to be a decent drain in the bottom.  All I need to do now is figure out how to seal the back of the cargo light from the melting ice.  BTW, the cargo light seems like it would make night time beverage selection a snap.   I'll plan on testing this 4th of July.
