Dont think Alaska is going to be as active at GA. Its a shame you had to move that far from Byron just so he would stop coming buy and getting you to help mod.

Fur-rondy in Anchorage is the next planed, er annual gtg. I am thinking about having a monthly lunch in Wasilla. something like the 3rd sunday of the month at Ihop  at 1 pm.  We have a small core groop but we have fun. I love to see enthused people. I need a dose of that.... lol

Do it all!

We try for 3 gtg a year
Fur rondy in February
Kenai 4Th July,    Host member has retired from the club, kinda not gonna happen anymore
somewere in the fall

We also do shout outs

gonna be in anchorage from out of town, post a shout out for lunch , dinner
Meet Out of staters and the like.
Just want to break the doldrums.....

our core group uses MSN Messenger, easyer than CAFCNA to organise
I'M matsuav@hotmail.com

Also we use the Alaska section at Clubavalanche.com more than CAFCNA, No hard feelings just less posting to weed through

I use this:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

allows for multiple pics to be resized at the same time.  Using the 'advanced' button, you can pick what size you want (600X450 works best for the forum).

just highlight the pics you want to resize, then right click, choose resize, then advanced.  Very easy to use

I don't think anybody's ever tried it with vehicle before, but I know a few guys that did it with snowmachines a few years ago, they said there was so much snow they could hardly make a decent trail.

Wow has it been awhile since I checked the threads in here. Hi everyone Wave Anyhow, I am here too. Nice to see everyone. So Jon, I think we have enough people to guilt (and maybe help a little) Jeff into making the 4th of July something bigger than we usually do. Sound plausible?

i need some help??

i need a driver for the avy i have to take her to the tint shop, i just got a letter from my nurologist, optmitrist and regular doc telling me not to be wearing sunglasses as i am driving any more because i suffer from cronic headaches, from my injuries i suffered in iraq, talked to the tint shop and they are going to hook up the front window full cover tint for 50.00, but here is the kicker i can not be seen driving the avy right now because of the meds i am on and the wifies work schedule does not permit her to help me do it. if i get caught driving the avy there will be hell to pay maybe lose rank money and more, so on a short notice is there anyone that is not doing anything like in a quick hurry?

hey alaska i was just kidding about ebaying your hood it will be here until you need to get it

Hey all,

Reckon I better say hello.

Relied on this forum while overseas for many upgrades but now I am finally back to the real world....Alaska

Just moved back to Alaska after a 6 year hiatus overseas. You may see my Blue Battleburban rolling down the Glenn from time to time:) I did notice a forum sticker on the back of a Av last week but at 80mph it was difficult saying hello.

If I could get my highly untechnical butt to post a picture I would but mine is probably one of the fewer Av's in town with a Snugtop cladding painted to match on the uppers (Indigo Blue 2500).

Btw if anyone has some new shoes/rims for sale for a 2002 2500 Av feel free to message me. Also looking for a KN drop in to replace my tired out one (8.1 engine).

Thanks,

BusterAv

Just bought an 02 AV last week.      Must have been destiny.      It already had the Fan club sticker in the window and the ambers done for me!  My son and I are having a good time looking for other members.      I am in South Anchorage.

I have a White 02 1500, loaded to the brim.   I Feel like I am riding in a Limo.   I think the last owner lived in Suttin(SP?) but don't hold me to it.   If that person is still here, THANKS, I will take good care of her.   First mod that I am planning on doing is a bed slide then a 3 inch lift, then. . . .

Look forward to meeting everyone.

I was at Dimond Freddies last week talking to a guy, with KULDAD as personalized plates, about his lift.  It was a red, newer version w/body hardware.  Looked real nice!  I didn't even think to mention this board to him.   banghead

If I see anyone that should join here, what do I tell 'em??

It's up in the air right now.

The 4Th of July Was the summer event in Kenai for the last few years.  I need a hug Things change.

Kind of hoping for something towards Denali or Fairbanks this summer.

maybe a car show at custom truck or lunch at I-hop in wasilla

Were going to Nationals this year and are looking FWD to that.

If you have an Idea, throw it out there, someone will come Thumbs up!

Welcome to Elmendorf, we've been here for almost two years now and still enjoy it. Make sure you do what we haven't done....get out of Anchorage and explore everything, even during the winter. We wasted many months, even a year, sitting around the house because we didn't want to drive that far, especially during the winter when it's really tough to get bundled up and go anywhere. Again, welcome to Elmo, hope you enjoy it! Welcome!

Welcome to the club. We hope to meet up

I believe we met last year at after the Rondy parade. Someone flagged my down because I have amber daytime lights. If we haven't, I still have amber daytime lights on my Avalanche.

Just name the time and place. We will see if DH is home or not and if we can make it!

I think I am taking the Avy to get a bath today. After the drive to Anchorage & back last weekend it is very very dirty!

Howdy! I'm in Germany now (Air Force), but my family and my baby ('02 Z71, vanity plate "LUGNUT") are in Eagle River. I will retire and be home for good in June, but I keep having to yell at my wife because she let my baby get covered in snow and doesn't drive it enough. It's stock for now, but i'm saving money to complete my wish list after I get home.  I lurked on clubavalance.com for a while and was disappointed when I went there a couple days ago and saw it shut down, though I know most of the folks in there are on here as well.

Hello to all,

Moved up to Anchorage last year (Air Force), and brought with me a wife, a dog, a mean rabbit and my 2003 North Face Edition (theres a grand prix somewhere around here too...).

She's stock, but I have high hopes for her. First thing on the list is new shocks (that ALCAN dished out some punishment!). Looking to order some Bilstein Heavy Duty front and rears from Summit and install them myself, after all she is my truck!

I freely admit that I'm a novice when it comes to working on vehicles (grew up an inner city kid...), but with my Chilton and this forum, I'mm thinking I may be set!

Thanks to all that makes this place tick! Thumbs up!

I was in Fairbanks last Sunday , Avalanches everywhere!

Yeah, they seem to be sprouting up everywhere, a very common vehicle here.

Hello all,

Checking in. We bought our Avalanche Jan 2012.

It has been a good vehicle so far. Just a few annoyances like
rattling in the dash on the passenger side and dash trim ring.
The Tach is starting to stick so I may upgrade it to a Escalade
one from that gauge guy. I replaced the worn out Bilstiens with
Rancho RS5000's and it runs alot smoother now, especially with
20's.

Just browsing common issues and looking at example mods for
now.

We are on Dowling in Anchorage.

going to be moving up to the fairbanks area next year around October currently in Tacoma, WA. What do you guys suggest I should do for my Av to get it ready for the winter in the far north... anything specific, other than the engine block heater...
