Last weekend I had to get stuff from Home Depot to replace a subfloor in our master bedroom.   :E:  The midgate was quite useful as usual.   :4:

Today, I helped move my daughter back to her apartment for the upcoming semester.  Again, used the midgate and I was hauling tall stuff so I had to leave the bed panels off.  Not what I had in mind though with the temperatures in the teens but thankfully the mattresses come up to the base of the window so it didn't get too cold.

We are having our master bath remodeled.

I ran down to Home Depot to pick up several sheets of sheet rock and some lumber.

I had already dropped the midgate before I left for the store.

An employee rolled the cart out to my EXT to help me load.

There were some guys standing around a couple of parking spots down that were watching in hopes of seeing me make a fool of myself.

I dropped the tail gate and the two of us slid everything into the bed and I closed the tail gate and drove off.

Priceless was the look on their faces as I drove past them.

Got a new house and we're splitting a 22' x 18' room in half and adding a closet to one of the rooms. Anyway, I brought home the 24' worth of wall material. 22 sheets of 1/2" drywall and 50 2x4s.

This load sat in the truck, in the garage for 2 days. The rear end squatted down after a couple of days, so I took a video of the LTZ auto ride airing the rear shocks up to level out the height.

Probably not the most entertaining video out there, but I figured some folks here may enjoy!

Respected community! Tell me, has anyone of you been towing Fifth wheel Trailers with the Avalanche? And generally, whether it is technically possible?

5th wheel, no way. The sail panels would be in the way for even the most simple of turns.
Maybe for a gooseneck..... smaller footprint in the bed & could possibly be installed a bit more to the rear. Still not ideal.

The gooseneck mod has been done a few times, check here: http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?topic=38989.msg2118739#msg2118739

It's a custom thing and surely not recommended so proceed at your own risk.

You're probably right. Residential trailer, even on the goose neck, will touch during turns. Probably suitable only for cargo trailers.

A couple of members have used them for horse trailer or moving construction equipment.
But for a camper or RV it will be useless.

Hauled some kayaks.  My daughters went kayaking with me for Father's Day.  Best fathers' day ever.

I didn't have the J-Hooks yet when we bought them last weekend so I dropped the mid-gate to haul two of them.  The guy at Dick's was quite impressed with the midgate.
