Here are some pics of the install.  Sorry for the bad pics.

Custom mount is from here Valentine Mount.  The 3/4" diameter mount is what worked for me.

The wires were run behind the piller and down the the fuse box.  The negative was connected to an existing bolt and the positive was connected to the SEO ACCY fuse, which I replaced with a mini access a fuse from here Access a Fuse

Compared to the Bel detector I just replaced in the AV, there is no comparison.  The directional arrows are very cool.  It would point to the frequency until and after I passed it.  It also picked up radar frequency earlier in spots that I pass everyday to work.

You can pick up your own Valentine 1 radar from their site - http://www.valentine1.com/

nice Iike it? :D

I like the functionality and set up better than the Bel and Escort detectors I have  (y)

Hey did you know we're having a SF GTG, Sunday May 20.  Check out the thread - here.  You can see the radar in person.  :D

Question - since I have it hardwired and it goes on when the ignition is on, do you think that will damage the unit.  Meaning since I don't turn it on manually after the engine is on, will that instant power mess anything up in the unit?

I call them and they said that my set up won't harm the unit because of the inline fuses that came with the unit  (y)

Great find Ro.
I like this idea very much.

BTW, did you know there is a company that makes a power pigtail that gets power from the mirror?
Link thingy: http://www.invisicord.com/
I picked one the other day.
Now this mount will complete things.

dang that's too cool.  I didn't know what.  oh well too late now  (y)

I've had mine for months and love it, no more dangling cords and my V1 comes on when I start my truck and shuts off when I turn the engine off -? gotta love it ;)
As Vetman said this mount ties the package all together.

Been doing that for 4 years and haven't had a problem with mine.

That was a quick & easy 2 min install!!

Now I just have to figure out how my remote display wires in to this configuration.

hmmmm, no luck playing with phone line splitter.  :E:

Not sure which way to go now. I guess having to run a wire for the remote display defeats the purpose of direct wiring to the mirror.  ???

I just ordered mine..Well worth $46.95. Between my GPS antenna and EZ pass, this is a perfect solution or windshield space management
