Just curious - If anyone has any info on this business or this enclosure...

Looks nice and priced reasonable...

It is a nice box for the money.   I had one for a few days but didn't work with the power tonneau I installed so I sent it back.

The enclosure is the same size for the 10, 12 and 15 inch subs.   It sticks up about 12 inches off back of baffle board.

He (Caraudiofactory) is currently working on a new one for the pioneer slim woofers that only sticks up about 4 inches.   Caraudiofactory indicates they should have pics of it on the site in the next couple of days.   My nephew has the pioneer slims and said it sounded like poo until he got the amp tuned to the woofer (it sounds like he got the woofer tuned to the box and then got the amp gain adjusted correctly but that's not how he tells it. . . )  Now that its set up it sounds pretty good.   Not anything like a big box 12, but good for a slim line.   If I had the room, I would go with the poly slot 12 box again.

No glass storage and it's not exactly light.   flopping the midgate down is a finger cruncher if your not careful.   The box narrowly cleared the glass on mine.   I have heard others say it didn't clear and some say it cleared easily.   There are different versions of this same box (square holes, ported, sealed, ect. ) so I chalked the comments up to box differences.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth (in a 50 cent blurp. . . )

some people like CAF, and some don't.

I bought an underseat box (this is actually my truck in the pic)

I'm thinking about going back to get something with more airspace. ?Underseat does not bump. ?The box is good, imo, but the bump is lacking due to the underseat air space. ?It has more bass, but I listen to rap, so....

I've read a few posts that say the midgate hits well.

Personally, I just don't want to pull out my midgate, so I might see about the box that mounts in the window storage space.

TK  does the rear seatback fold all the way down (ie:normally) with your present box?

Thanks

Here's the box I had installed in my AV-holds 2 10" & the amp is under the box in the middle.  The seats sit normally and if you notice there are two "risers" on the ends to keep the seats from crushing down on the subs.  I'm not a rap listener, but this adds LOTS of bass to my Av.

this shows how the seat looks when down...see how it keeps the seats from hitting the subs-especially if someone is sitting in the seat.

While the setup you show in the pics looks pretty cool-I would not want to lose my midgate or the ability to haul long items...

I have a man that does my electronic work-he ordered it from somewhere-I need to find out where...I'll post here when I do.   I wish I had a way to post a sound clip so you can hear the difference...Let me see what I can figure out.

Update:
I just talked to him and he orders his through a distributer-he doesn't know who makes them.  He said if you were interested he could order it for you and have it drop shipped to your address.  He needs what year your Av is-there is apparently a difference in the years fit..they run 200-250 & shipping.  Contact him here: keharris46@sbcglobal.net  Mention the Av Club so he knows what's up...

Thanks MoAV.   I will shoot him a message.   Just to make certain, your midgate and seatback fold down all the way they did originally, right?

OK, a few updates...

One of the wires was crossed on one of the subs (I must have wired a speaker into the box backwards - I could have sworn I checked this...)The box sounds good after all!  I take back everything non-positive that i had to say earlier... (I just came back in from messing around with the box, so I'm a bit happy about it.)

As for the seats - it doesn't fold all the way down, but it folds down pretty far.  Take a look at the pics on the site and you can see how far the seats go down.  You lose about 30%, I'd say.  If there's anything you need to lay in the back, you still can, but it won't be perfectly flat.

I recommend this box for those who want 10s, and can give up a little bit - but not much of the midgate functionality.

Thank you TK, that is very helpful.   I need to maintain the ability to fold flat like stock.   How about you MoAv, will yours fold flat like stock?

I had to go check-I hadn't layed the seats down yet...and no, they don't go all the way flat as they did before-the box stops them after they go down about 75%.  But the midgate works flawlessly.  I also discovered my amp is NOT in the middle of the box, but behind the seat!!  But that's all good, since now I know I can get to it if I need to easily! Here's some pics of the seats:

mine folds down about the same as MoAvs...? the pic from caraudiofactory.com is my truck on the day they installed it...? my amp was not yet (and still is not yet) mounted - just sitting behind the seats feely.

if you need full midgate functionality, i've only seen two designs on this forum that will get you there, and they are both for two separate underseat, upfiring boxes with 8s.? I think CAF is trying to replicate one of the sets.? I'll try to find a link for ya... if i don't, search for "Josh Pezzdog TK enclosure".

i was recently in your shoes, so i get what you're going through.
