Setting Up A Local Club In Ten Easy Steps

STEP TWO - WHAT'S INVOLVED:

It’s time to ask yourself just how committed you are to setting up a local area club. What’s involved? To have a successful club with good events you’ll need to do the following:

  • Pick a date and time

  • Pick a place to meet

  • Choose a route

  • Choose stops along a way

  • Think about any promotions or contests you might want to do

  • Keep your club entries updated in the online database (more on this later)

  • Keep active discussion alive on the Forum board about the club

  • Recruit club members online

  • Actively solicit the support and aid from Chevrolet and Cadillac dealerships in your club area (remember – the club is NON-commercial)

  • Serve as a point of contact in the forums, by e-mail, and by phone

It’s not a fulltime job, but it’s not something that you can give two-hours of time to and it’s all done. The good news is that as your club grows people will start stepping forward to do some of the above tasks. The real problem is getting that first successful meeting. All told to properly setup and recruit for your first cruise expect to spend 10 to 30 hours of time over a two-month period, that includes scouting out your route.

On to step three...
