National Meet 2003 - Thursday, July 24, 2003:

Thursday, July 24, 2003:

7:00 AM - 9:00 AM:  Registration.  Come on over to Convention Center II in the Ramkota by Legion One for registration.  There you will get your ID badge and event materials.  Members of the Rapid City Convention & Visitors Bureau will be available to answer your questions.

9:00 AM – 10:30 AM:  You'll have a sit down breakfast at the Ramkota with your fellow club members.  The Meal is included with your registration fee and you'll have a choice of entree.  The United States Air Force Auxiliary will present the colors opening up the day and speakers will include officials from General Motors and members of the Avalanche Club.
 
10:30 AM – 4:30 PM:  The Avalanche show and jamboree.
 
Avalanches will be on display from across the United States.  You'll be able to enter your Avalanche for awards including:

  • Cleanest Avalanche

  • Dirtiest Avalanche

  • Most Exterior Modifications - 2WD

  • Most Exterior Modifications - 4WD

  • Most Interior Modifications - 2WD

  • Most Interior Modifications - 4WD

  • Best Audio System Modifications With Factory Head Unit

  • Best Audio System Modifications Without Factory Head Unit

You can also enter to win prizes in the following categories:

  • Longest drive

  • Shortest drive

  • Newest Avalanche (based on date of purchase and mileage)

  • Oldest Avalanche (based op date of purchase and mileage)

  • Most total miles on Avalanche

  • Most total hours on Avalanche

We're working on getting a number of racing and show Avalanches on display so be watching for updates.  You also be able to meet with vendors and suppliers for the Chevrolet Avalanche.  Local crafts will be available for sale and there will be a play area for the kids.  We're working on a lot of surprises to make this an outstanding event.
 
10:30 AM – 11:30 AM:  Break out sessions.
 
Several meetings will be held to discuss a number of different Avalanche issues.  Session might include the future and vision of the Avalanche, problems and issues, modifications, and how to discussions for things like modifications, off-road driving, etc.  A calendar will be available soon!
 
11:30 AM – 12:30 PM:  Break out sessions.

12:30 PM – 2:30 PM:  It's lunch time!
 
Food and drink for all with good fun.  Included with your registration fee you'll have a country style lunch at the hotel and meet with your fellow members.
 
2:30 PM – 4:00 PM:  Games and fun for everyone.
 
Come on down to the patio area next to Conference Center II and be sure to bring your bathing suit.  We'll have games and fun for everyone and we're working with the hotel on what we can do.  We'll have something figured out so be looking for updates!  Just be sure you get out of the pool in time to see the awards ceremony!
 
2:30 PM – 3:30 PM:  Break out sessions.

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM:  Award presentations and speeches.
 
The votes have been counted, the entries for longest drive and shortest drive and all have been gone over.  It's time to start handing out the awards!  There will be prizes, fun, laughs and some surprises too!
 
2:30 PM - 5:30 PM:  Shopping trip at the Rushmore Mall.
 
If you want some civilization time than it's time to head to the mall.  Grab the keys to the Avalanche and head on over to adjacent Rushmore Mall for shopping at one of over 120 stores.
 
6:30 PM – 9:00 PM:  Group dinner at the conference center featuring Native American dancers.
 
Put on your Sunday's best for this semi-format event included in the your registration cost.  You'll have a sit down dinner with your choice of entree.  Over dessert you'll be entertained by Native American dancers and music.  It will be fun for the whole family.  Evening dress for the ladies and a jacket for the men is recommended but not required.

9:00 PM – 11:30 PM:  Dancing and drinks at the conference center.
 
We're going to dim the lights, turn it up and have a good time.  Grab your drink tickets and head on over to the bar and dance to the music of the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and current hits.  For those with children day care will be provided in the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club hospitality suite.  You'll get two drink tickets for every adult in your party while you dance the night away!
