What did you do to your Avalanche today?

After searching on my RR taillight (not working) but directional/flashers/reverse light worked....I found that a common issue is the circuit board. $25 and 15 minutes later and all is well and working. God Bless America and the CAFC!

Used it to help haul a model railroad, and sometime this week it will be hauling my new sailboat! I am buying a MacGregor V25.

Nursed it down to the mechanic with leaking rear brake line. Somebody was looking out for me as I managed to make every light which is about as rare as winning the lottery.

Jeeze hope you had an anchor you could throw out window attached to hitch if you needed it...

That was lucky...

I first drove it up and down my ski slope of a driveway to make sure I could whoa it down enough. I had enough front brakes to make it and of course left a LOT more following distance than I normally would. I also downshifted to slow down.

I'm not sure I would have drove it there, but once you get it back on the road you'll find it much easier to complete the rest of the work needed.

Hey Avalanche fans, I just picked up (not literally :D ) an 07 AV. Used to have a Yukon years ago and had to get back to GM truck experience.
Thought I would try to see who's doing what to their AV daily. If this is already a post, I missed it and will delete this if necessary. Otherwise . . . . . What did you do to your AV today?
Today mine was left at my shop. Getting a bath 🛁lol

I was surprised how it stopped. I guess since the front brakes still had fluid and a bit of pressure it was able to stop going forward. At this point, I'm going to have them do most of the other work too. I'm just so fed up and need to take some weekend time to relax instead of fight stubborn parts. I'd probably be singing a different tune if I had a lift but spending so much time on the floor the past few months has negatively impacted my overall mood.

I'll still probably do the POR15 thing, Corrosion Free and easier items like replacing the spare tire and hoist, but I'm not futzing with the front suspension like I was originally planning. I'll leave that to the folks with a lift.

I was going to mention that, maybe have them do the complete control arms. Everything else is easy.

If it's to the point where it's rounded out, you'll have to be committed to removing it by drilling it and using a bolt extractor to get it out of there.

Then toss it and install a new one.

Alternatively, some guys tack weld a bolt or socket to the end of the plug and use that instead. You just have to be careful not to weld the threads to each other. xD

Or deal with it as-is. There can be some other solutions, but these are the most universal that i know of

I realized it was gonna be stout on first attempt so I sprayed it for a couple days and dug around the perimeter with a pic. Also, bought a 6 sided 18mm socket for it. My body was in a position that I could use my legs....Not sure how many ftlbs I can generate that way but it's a lot. It took 70-75% of what I could give it before it rounded over. Made a conscious effort to keep square on the bolt but it wasn't budging. Then tried the old 14" pipe wrench I took out of my Grandpas garage when he passed.... I used to brag about how that old beast was undefeated.....until that day lol. Fortunately that thick stuff pumped right in through the axle hole.

Never thought of welding socket directly into bolt, good tip... thanks!

Balanced the stroker crank rods and pistons for the 408 stroker going in...07 Ave All white southern comfort edition 4L80E 4x4 with a 408 stroker going to be a one of one I hope...
I am curious to know how many of these editions were made

noticed your foil above where did you find it and the side panels? any more pics of the foil?
That's what they call a Sportswing I'm not in a place to get pics, but if you search SPORTWING you will see some.
The side panels came with a snugtop topper

Installed a dash mat since my car is outside in the sun all day long. I would post a picture but I don’t see the option yet. Now it’s there 😁08CFC668-D6B8-4E2E-929A-E1B29BEA68FA.jpeg

Used the Avalanche to move my sailboat and also hold it stable while I raised the mast and main sail to check my rigging.

Last time I towed a sail boat (my Uncle just bought it), it was full of about 12" off ice. Didn't realize that until we towed it about an hour home. Was wondering why it didn't feel like the 2500lbs he claimed. Not quite sailing weather...

I finished the panels! I decided to glue the weatherstrips on with Window Weld, which for those who don’t know, is the stuff that sets your windshield glass into the car. The stuff is urethane and tough as nails. If this fails to seal, I risk ruining the weatherstripping but the panels should clean up nice again. Anyway here is the results, and like I said above, panel #1 needs a bit more help.

It was Refinish Restorer product that I used. Have not tried Cerakote Trim Restore. I now use it on my Camaro since all my cladding is painted.
