High beams only working in 'on' position, but will not 'flash'.

The high beams on my 2012 will work when you push out on the turn signal switch but not when you pull in.

This means I can keep them on, but can't quickly flash them. Any idea what to check? I don't think they are separate fuses and the lights obviously work. Bad connection somewhere?

AFAIK, so long as your high beams are working in one or the other, the circuit itself is fine. It could be the multifunction switch itself, in which case you would either have to test the leads one way or another either by directly accessing the switch or by carefully testing the harness itself.

Im not entirely sure if it applies to these trucks. but when i was googling around ive seen mention that you may want to try these functions with the fog lights toggled on and off as well as testing them in the different headlight modes. (off, on, auto, parking, ect) just to see if there's something screwy going on. I guess there's been cases where a previous owner had modified some of the system programming and it caused the computer to more or less disable the primary high beam function until a non-typical condition was met. ex: Brights only working with the fog lights turned on. So i see no reason why an alternative issue couldn't exist. Idk, just something to try on the off chance that it works.

Per section 6-3 in the 2012 owner's manual:

Use your high-beam headlamps to signal to a driver in front that you want to pass. It works even if the headlamps are in the automatic position. To use it, pull the turn signal lever toward you, then release it. If the headlamps are in the automatic position or on low beam, the high-beam headlamps turn on. They stay on as long as the lever is held. The high-beam indicator on the instrument panel cluster comes on. Release the lever to return to normal operation.

My guess is maybe the stalk switch is bad
