How Many Avalanche 2500 are here Now, Today?

It was a lot younger when I did that, after I had it for a year I was tired of trying to keep them shiney. I consider it a work horse not a show queen LOL
Oh yea don’t worry I sell at the flea market and I load this broad down with stuff I always convert the cab when I go I had a 92 suburban before this and I will never switch back I love the avalanche

Well there are a few creature comforts things on it but nothing that effects the ability to tow or haul.

I'm here please add me to your list! I have had my '04' 2500 since new. She's a garage queen with only 9,200 miles ! Love taking her on a few trips each year!
Oh my goodness its just a baby!! Please let me know if you or anyone else decides to sell one! I've been looking for one to no avail....

I decided to go with the Moog control arms. I bought the upper ones from Rock Auto. Next are the lowers.
Did you go with stock or an upgraded version?

Looks like moog has a problem solver upgraded version, ck.

Is that what you used?

Boots on mine are bad.

Suggestions on other steering components, I only have 67k on mine (orig owner).

I do have the conitgo Cognito Idler and Pitman Arm Kit, bump stops (for 300lb renuel bumper).

Thanks

I had gone to the Chevrolet dealer in Folsom because they had quoted me a good price, about $750 for replacing both upper and lower control arms and a front end alignment. I got there last Friday morning and check in. It turns out the price they wanted for the work doubled. Oh well.

I have an appointment scheduled at another Chevrolet dealer next Saturday. They say it's about to take about 6 hours......

Let's see. That seems a little long.

I just bought a Hellwig front sway bar for the Avalanche. According to the photo, it's gray. I'm going to paint it black to match the other suspension parts.

Lots of new parts, now just to put them on.

Before I bought my 02 1500 I passed up on buying a 03 2500. I'm still kicking myself for not buying it. They are rare and I do love the bigger motor and trans.

I had the Hellwig sway bar put on a few months ago. The truck handles much better now. The kit included poly sway bar bushings. I would have done it myself except that bar must weigh 40 lbs.

Use a floor jack, because they are solid steel and as you found out quite heavy. Did you get both front and back. ???

I've noticed that the databases on automotive websites are now listing only the 1500. When that happens, I look up the Suburban 2500.

Nice looking Av Kitrod.

Just remember 2500 burbs came in 2 models most have a 6.0l motor and some have the 8.1.

Most of the 6.0 suspension and drivetrain parts do not fit the 2500 AVs.

Yeah that right! I had completely forgotten the 6.0! Thanks for that info. I do always make sure that the pull down menu says 8.1L though.

Still here at 167k and the last oil sample I sent it showed all good.
Just getting started down the path of modernization and custom parts. Wish Raylar stuff would go on sale from time to time.

Just got my 2002 Avalanche 2500. It has Lots of miles (217,000). But it’s in great shape for the age and miles. Last owner had it from 130,000 until now. Had service history for last 10 yrs. I’m the 3rd owner.
Picture is in my avatar. Not sure how to post a picture in the thread. Keeps wanting me to put in a web address when I click what looks like the photo icon.

new here, joining with an 02 2500 8.1L (196,000KM) that needs some work after sitting for a year.
Project8.1L starting soon :)
I have already ordered new headlights, a magnaflow 12649 + black tip, and some newer 8 bolt GM 20's to go on it.
Still searching for a good tire/level size (Was hoping 275/60/20 on a 2" level kit but I am unsure)...

Still here. Currently restoring her.

115K miles on this one i picked up in July of 2020. Its a 2003 fully optioned. I'm second owner. Interior is mint except typical seat tear on side.

Krytponite level kit with Bilsteins, all new front suspension (except pitman arm and idler), New wheels/ tires just installed, and Blackbear tuning in process.

Next is cosmetics. Taking off all the cladding and hitting it with raptor liner as it looks like crap!

Oh and if anyone is wondering how I colored the raised letters on the cladding just hit up A1 decals on the web. I ordered the 18" and special requested the matching 2500 font. They fit perfectly!
