I have 03 avalanche and want to instal the escalade pick up 3rd brake light. Will it work. Will it fit. Figure i need the 3rd light and surround cladding. Help

Best case would be to obtain all of the EXT upper cladding parts, including the tailgate spoiler and side bin lids, for the best possible fit.

The upper cladding from all Avalanches and EXT's from every model year will fit, but the EXT smooth cladding is of a slightly different size and does not mix well with the textured cladding of an Avalanche.

Some have done it, but the fitment is not quite as good.

I just saw a video of this on UTube this morning, and the EXT panel does not match up with the inner sail panels on the AVY. Looks like it hung down about 3/8 or 1/2” lower than the stock panel. The guys said they were going to order the EXT inner sail panels so it would match.

This is what I meant by "not mixing well".

There was someone recently, maybe here or on Facebook, that installed the EXT brake light section only and had pictures posted.

I didn't like the look of the fit, but they seemed to be fine with it.

Different strokes, I suppose.

Also, the storage box lids are of a different size and they don't mix well with the rough textured parts.

For me, it would be all or nothing for the best fit.

There are many threads on this website that deal with swapping out the AV and EXT third brake light......It never has matched up well and most members who did the swap back in the day did have to swap all upper cladding including tailgate spoiler and tailgate bezel for best results.
Back then when parts were available it ran about $1,500 for parts and then you had to have the parts painted and installed so its not a cheap mod.
