After quite sometime of having some water leaking into my truck on passenger side floor board I decided to do some investigation and found the source of the leak. I read quite a bit on people blaming the the rear divider for front leaks and I find it difficult to believe that water would find it's way up front from the back area due to all the floorpan humps in the floor so here it is. I removed the blower fan and fan resistor and looked in there as I did static water test with a hose and found it leaking from a small cover that's located right under the wiper valance after removing the wiper arms and the molding I removed the cover by reaching up and unfastening the tabs. I found the sealant around the cover to be dried up and not sealing around the cover so I used some all purpose sealant around the cover and reinstalled it and let it cure or set and repeated the static water test and that fixed the leak. Pictures to come

Wow. Never read any mention of that panel before. Good catch.  (y)

More guys with this problem need to see this.

Where does that last shot lead to? Take a look at my post in this section, I have a picture up of where my water is settling. Tell me if that could be where the water leads to.

Yes, please repost photos as I am having the same leak issue and think it may be coming from this area.

Thanks!

my '02 was leaking in the same place, it would also fill the heater fan along with the passenger carpet. my husband took the whole dash apart and the whole front area under the wipers off. he put seam sealer on any area that looked like it could leak(under the wiper area) and guess what..it still leaked.  now i am the proud owner of a '12.  the only other suggestion he got was to take the fender off and when he heard that, he said enuf' is enuf' buy a new one.
we have pics, i'll try to find them

Anything new on this subject? My fan wasn’t turning off, and after turning off the AV the blower is still running! Removing the plastic blower cover to unplug I find water had collected in the cover. Not sure if the two problems are related. It’s a 2004.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I had the same heater issue. Out of the blue, it took off at full speed and wouldn't shut off. Even with the motor off and the key removed.... Removed the connectors on the battery and it finally shut off. Weird stuff. Did the research and tracked it down to the heater resistor. Pulled it out to cross preference the numbers. I have an 02 so nothing is straight up. Got the replacement and swapped it out. Gravy job even though I had to hardwire it since I couldn't get one connectors off. Hid that one well. Took 15 minutes. Have all degrees of fan speed now and appears to of fixed the issue. Maybe the water or moisture is creating problems with the resistor. Just spit balling. All the research I did shows a known issue with the resistor. At least the cost is low and so is the beer consumption. Fast and easy fix for me and I hope you have the same luck.
