what would you do different?
I`m looking at a `04 Z-71 Silver Birch loaded w/sport N sun and leather cladded of course ;D

I edited your poll for ya so it has something to vote on....

I got my 04 loaded with everything but the Z-71 (have the G80 rear though) and DVD. One thing I really like that I think adds a lot to the looks is the roof rack. It seems to help break up the long roof line. Other than that, as long as you get the full pwr leather, 6 disc with Bose, sun roof and all the other toys, I think you'll be happy. Sometimes I find myself playing with things while I sit in traffic, just cause I can.

what's not to like?

I think they get better every year.... except for a few deletions... just gives us more mods to do. ;D

I'm very happy with my '04. Someone asked my the other day if I would do anything diferent and the only complaint I could come up with was something you have no choice on. And that's the fake leather GM uses on 70% of the "leather" seats. I know it would cost more, but at least give me the option. Other than that, I'm thrilled and would buy the same SUT again.

lotta traffic down your way..............couldnt PAY me enough to live /work down there :E:

Fortunately my commute takes me cross county so I don't have to deal with too much. Lived here 25 years and remember when 95 was only 2 lanes all the way to Springfield. Used to be able to go from Woodbridge to Spingfield mall before Freebird finished on the tape!

I've had my '04 Z66 for about 1 month and have less than 500 miles on it (I drive an office car to work). But the miles I do have on it have been trouble free and I have received compliments about the ride from both front and rear seat passengers. I found one in dealer stock pretty much how I wanted it. I like the sport leather seats because it has cloth panels where full leather is sometimes cold and slippery in cold weather or hot and sticky in hot weather. You don't have that problem with the cloth inserts. I also avoided the onstar but do have XM. I intentionally avoided the convenience package 'cause I don't like extra gizmos on my steering wheel but without it the DIC is not fully featured. I was just a little disappointed about that when I found out. I have the sunroof and love it, we recently had some heavy rain and no leaks. Roof rack completes the look but haven't used it.

Get the steering wheel controls!! I love them and use them all the time for the stereo. When I drive the wife's car or the S10 I find myself punching the wheel with my thumbs to crank it up or change tracks. Once you have them you don't want to live without them.

I agree! I didn't think i wanted those either, but now I wouldn't want to be without them. I never touch the radio knobs.

I looked at many options before the 04 AV.... Most of the others seemed like tinker toys.

I'm very happy with my choice.....

I'm happy, but wish that I'd gotten my AV with some additional features (like steering wheel controls).

Got my '04 Z71 in December and now have about 6000 miles on it. The only thing I'd do differently, is get the two things that were left off. I love all the gadgets to include on-star and xm.

Happy so far, other than a minor electrical problem (dead passenger mirror). Great ride, great utility and get's more comments than my wife's CTS. :)

I am a little different than most as I have a bottom of the line 04. The only option is the locking rear end. I have not seen much I would pay for GM but I tend to be on the frugal side. I did add the towing package, side mouldings, steps and rear radar but I did those myself to save a few $$. But even with the basic model I am well pleased. I have 4800 miles and the ONLY defect I have been able to find is the carpet over the transmission was not tacked down well and it blocked the heater vent. A small piece of 2 sided tape fixed it. I drove 800 miles one day with 3 boys ages 11-14 in the back and they said they were fine an comfortable. I have taken it back woods camping with the scouts and have hauled furniture and medical supplies with NO problem. Tomorrow I plan on picking up a ton of sand, and then about same amount of top soil.

 :love:love my truck, best i have ever owned,,2004 wbh with flares, door cladding, roof rack, trailer package...abuelito

Oh how true your statement is!!! I just got through cleaning my seats when I noticed that the rear seats are about 15% leather and 85% vinyl. I have more leather on my shami. And to think they charge extra for this? My small bottle of leather cleaner will probably last the duration of my loan.

:8:

SORRY......HAD TO VENT!!

Got my O4 the end of Feb. Spent alot of time looking around to find everything I wanted. I think I drove GM buypower into a meltdown cause it wouldn't search the 1500 Av for about 5 days. My Dealer located one in Rockville , MD. and was willing to send someone 5 hrs drive time to get it and the pricks at Orismann(sp?) Chevrolet wanted something rediculous in dealer trade. :8: So I settled for my 2nd choice. A loaded WBH. I really like the improvements made the past 2 years. I have only 400 miles on it ,but it really is great. The XM is awesome. The Sport Red is . I have the sound, but I'm still waiting for the sun! ;D
FYI ,other than 2500 models. The hardest to find are 1500's with 4.10 gears and neutral leather interior together. ANYWAYS SPECIAL THANKS TO BILL CRONIN AT WATSON EAST CHEVROLET in Blairsville.Pa.

Yes,

I am very happy with my 04 Avy WBH, summit white, tow package, locking rear diff, and roof rack, Bucketseats with Bose sound 6 cd changer.

I looked and drove the Ford super crews and drove the Dodges and they just don't match up.

Very happy choice

I'm very happy with mine after only 600 miles. Would I do something different? Maybe leather interior, sunroof, and a better sound system; however, I had planned on installing my own dvd/nav system anyway.

I fell in love with this Av at the dealership; my lease on my '01 Z-71 Silverado Ext Cab was ending in a week, and I didn't want to wait for another Silver Birch WBH with the additional options to arrive.
