When I got my Pioneer Nav/DVD installed at a Circuit City, I asked about a kit to allow the radio controls on the steering wheel to control the Pioneer unit. They told me they could order them. About 2 days later they called me back and said the wiring harness had some issues with the wiring configuration on the 2004 Av. He said it'd be mid January before "they" have one that will work on it. This was mid December.

Anyone know of a wiring kit that will allow the radio steering wheel controls to work with an aftermarket HU?

Soundgate claims that we will have their new piece in 2 weeks or less (for what that is worth!!)

I have an Alpine HU in my '04. I bought it from Tweeter and they installed a kit to allow the factory steering wheel control to operate it. Functionality is nearly the same as factory. OnStar works through these controls still as well. All in all, I'm very satisfied.

mudbone, do you have the part #?

I don't have a PN on my invoice. I think it was added as an afterthought. I need to call about something tomorrow. I'll try to get some info to pass on.

The parts you need are a Soundgate Digistar without bose and Digistar B with bose. That will give you all of your class 2 databus functions, and onstar interface. You also need a PAC SWI-X for your steering wheel controls.
