NEW LOCATION!!!

Seeing that it is supposed to rain on-and-off through tuesday...and we have a lot more people showing up than expected (and that's a good thing!!)...we are moving the location of the GTG... it will no longer be at the Capital Expo Center but we are moving it to Bull Run Park. I know there is an entrance fee for those without Fairfax County stickers..but it isn't much. There we will have a meet and greet, check out everybody elses AVs, have a modding session, and of course eat (there are grills and picnic tables and incase of rain - wooden shelters). So bring some what you and your family want to through on the grille and drink. I figured there is too little time to organize a "who bring what" so just bring what you want for yourselves. There is a grocery store about 5 minutes up the road for those doing some traveling for this!

DIRECTIONS!!!

From the Expo Center (hopefully you all have those directions)... at the light at 28 make a left (heading south) and get off on to 29 west (towards Centreville). You'll go through a few lights (7 or so) and then once you pass Centreville Baptist Chruch (on the right) and the Virginia Run community center (looks like Mt Vernon on right)...you'll be wanting to make a left onto Bull Run Post Office. If you see Luck Stone Rock Quarry...you've gone too far. Once on Bull Run Post Office...keep going straight until the road splits into a Y...go right! Keep going straight and it dead-ends at the park!

I had two ideas I'd like to share...

In Chantilly, VA (Northern) there is the Capital Expo Center (off route 2:cool: that consist of many fast food places and huge parking lots for pictures and socializing. This would be completely free (minus what you eat).

In Centreville, VA (Northern) or Burke, VA (Northern) there are parks with massive fields to park and take pictures in and lots of shelters for BBQing. The one in Centreville is Bull Run Park and the one in Burke is Burke Lake Park (bring the boats :D) There is an entrance fee for those without Fairfax Country stickers (I don't think it's more than $10...but I'll find out for sure). This would be a bring your own meat ordeal...I'll supply the grille! They also have BBQ pits already there at the shelters

Thoughts? Omniplex and I were thinking of taking some time to focus on and share modifications. Currently, we were thinking of the light mount and/or the automatic locking tailgate!

I think that for the first meet, the best thing to do would be meet at the Arbys or the Capital Expo Center parking lot.

I'd like to do the first one as a slightly long one and make it a modding GTG.

Doing the maglight mod for anyone that hasn't done it, and the locking tailgate ( tied in with your regular locks ) on this day..


Thoughts, suggestions?

To many places to hide, so little gas. :)
 
Crap, I got the dates wrong and was thinking the Grandstand GTG dates as the Niagra one.

So, on that note and after talking with jonboy, lets say the 12th instead :)

I found the MagLite clips at Home Depot for $4 and change. Anyone interested in doing this mod and wants me to buy the clips for them, send me a PM and let me know. Just bring $4 to the GTG. I'll buy the nuts that goes with it too...don't ask (I'll show you when you get there how I did mine).

I'm an Av wannabe. Just trying to convince the wife.
I'd be interested in coming to the GTG to see what you guys have done and start my list of Mods ;).

I'll probably show up in my Jeep...you'll see that I have the Mod bug already >:D

Though I don't think some of us have as many mods as we would like. A car to see iw BigBlocks, or ekeiavalanches car. Both have nice mods. Actually, all mods are nice, they just have a nice amount of them :)
 
definately come if you can...and bring the Jeep...I'll bring my brother to show him (he's a Jeep fanatic...you've probably seen him on the roads in C'ville or on some trails if you do that). if you can't make it...Omniplex and myself are always up for meeting whenever we can! I live in Centreville and Omniplex is out here alot too! PM us to exchange numbers (we don't want them listed!!) Omniplex and I neither have many mods completed (YET!!!...being the key word)...but we're always down with meeting other AV lovers!

nice having you on board...now can't wait to get you in an AV!

Well... if you guys were thinking of doing one in July I may be there. My wife right now drives my AV while I am away in Korea in the Army. I may try and send my wife to the GTG so you guys could help her out with the Mag Mod. Our AV right now is bone stock and still doesn't even have the amber drls yet either. Also maybe you guys can get the mod bug in my wife if she shows up.

Send your wife along, we can do the Mag Light Mod without much trouble.
Just won't use Jons method :)

What part of Korea?
 
I am north east of Seoul a little ways... Camp Page to be more exact. Yeah I only got to drive my AV for about 3 weeks before I had to handover the keys to the wifey. Didn't learn about the Amber drl mod till after I had arrived in Korea and was doing more research on my AV online on what I can do to the poor thing after I return from Korea. I like the Mag Light mod as we keep a 4D cell in the truck at all times. I'll definitely have to tell her about the GTG and see if she can be there.. Talk to ya later

Just bought an '03 black NFE and love it. Ambers are going in tomorrow. I'm in for the GTG, but did y'all come up with a date? 5th or the 12th or? Anyone have dual FM Super40's, 50's, or 70's? Want to hear them before I decide which to get.

For this one, we are doing the 12th because of the Niagra GTG.

Don't know anyone in this area who's going, but I believe that BigBlock is going ( he's further south ).

I was in Korea ages ago. My dad was stationed around Seoul, and I remember some fond times while there ( army brat ). You on a 2 - 3 year stint?
