I'm new to the club and purchased an Avalanche 2500 this past summer and it's been a nightmare with the issues I've had. My latest is was my gas tank falling off when pulling my camper in October. I finally had a chance to replace the rotted strap and then noticed two body mounts on the back of the frame rails just in front of the bumper/hitch area that have totally deteriorated. I'm guessing pulling the camper caused the breakaged due to the excessive rust. It looks like the rear of the bed is secured to these mounts. I am having no luck at all finding these on line. The Chevy dealer told me that the left hand side has been discontinued. Any idea where these can be found? Is there an aftermarket resourse for these? Also, I noticed that I have an auxilary fuel tank and the straps are rotted. I believe it is being supported by the spare tire. I can't seem to find a source for these either. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

First.. Welcome to the club.. Here are the straps for the front and rear tanks from Dorman.. They make a lot of parts for vehicles after the manufactures quit supporting them which is typically about 10 years on parts that are no longer used on any newer vehicle.. When you say body mounts do you mean the part that is welded to the frame? If so I think some here have actually picked up replacement parts at their local auto parts.. I'm sure Someone will jump in and let you know..

Thanks for the reply Randy. I appreciate the help. Yes, they are welded to the frame. At first I thought they were bolted on but I think the bolt is for the bumper or hitch mount.

Yeah, you might have to find a frame at a junk yard and cut them off. I know MS03 2500 replaced one or more of his spring mounts and those were available but I don't know if the body mounts are available.

Good luck..
