Hey all, just picked up my "new to me" first Avalanche last week.  I LOVE my Avy already!  It's an '07 LT Z71.  It has one issue I'd like to fix asap.  The previous owner installed an amp and sub.  When he traded it in, he took out the sub but left the amp hooked up to the other speakers.  The right rear channel cuts out and when I turn the engine off the only speaker that is still on is the factory sub in the dash, so I know the remote isn't tapped into the correct wire.  Anyways, I want to disconnect the aftermarket amp and put everything back to stock.  Just a quick eyeball test lends me to believe it was professionally installed.  In doing some research on this forum I know that the factory amp is under the center console.  Is it safe to assume that I'll find everything I need to reverse/undo here?  Any advise would be great!  Also, is getting to the factory amp pretty straightforward or are there any tricks I need to know to get to it?

Thanks in advance for your help! I'm sure I'll be spending a lot of time on this site!  :)

Remove your center console (instructions available from JL Audio stealthbox install instructions on their site on how to remove center console)... take pics and tell me what's there and I can help!

Congrats on your new ride.. i recently got a 07 LTZ Southern Coach edition... love it.

I am currently making a harness to bypass the BOSE sub and keep my factory nav unit.  My harness will keep all the chimes and everything working correctly without cutting into the factory harness at all... so my point is, I already did all the homework on how these are wired and will be happy to help.

Thanks for the offer! :D  As soon as I have some time I'll dig in and show you what I'm working with...

no problem... like I mentioned go to JL Audio's site, look up their stealthbox and you can get the document that has detailed instructions on how to remove the console.. it helped me a lot... its really easy to do but the instructions make sure you get every connector and screw and how to access the difficult ones more easy...

OK I went to http://www.jlaudio.com/product/54216.103634.2094.63585.1116713/Chevrolet_Avalanche_'02-'13 but I don't see the instruction document regarding the console... Am I just being stupid?  lol

You need the stealth box which replaces the storage compartment in your console with a sub woofer...

Like this one maybe?

Got it.  Thanks guys!  As soon as I have free time (which seems to be hard to come by these days) I'll dig in and hopefully get some pics up to show what I have to work with.
