Just want to make sure if the EXT rear cladding will fit directly on 07 Avy or not? I'm planning to buy the whole rear set of EXT cladding. Is it pain in the butt to take the whole rear set off??
Has anyone done this before?

Just so you know that we're not ignoring you 2007whiteavalanche...

I believe this may be the first time that this bunch of geniuses have been totally stumped!!!

GOOD JOB    :D :D

I haven't seen any with it done yet, I'm assuming it should, but who knows, I am def. not an expert  :E:

I've been told that the 07 upper cladding is very similar (if not the same) as the 03-06 cladding. If that is the case, be prepared to spend LOTS of money. I did it on my 2003 rig and bought it used and had it painted. I spent about $1.5K on it and did the work myself. I replaced everything, including the saddlebags because I wanted the smooth finish and didn't want to sand the old stuff.

Be prepared to buy lots of clips and cuss a lot. Did I mention bring lots of money? :)

cant see why it shouldnt work.  all other EXT and AV parts swap without a problem.  took about an hour and a half to swap it on my 02.

assuming its the same as previous years, you'll need 8-10 clips at about $4 each.  theres a thread i started somewhere in here about the chanhe on 02-06 Avs.  cant link while I'm driving.  might not be exactly the same but might help.  if no one links you, I'll find it when i can get to a real computer

Just sand and paint...I got mine done....All moldings came off including the third brake light...however the triangular pieces on the side had to be left on and painted....I don't know how in the hell you take those off and only way i could think of would be too risky.  I will inclue pics later.

when you said sand and paint, it means the original AVY cladding right not the one from EXT. That would be my second option, because I have this body shop who can do it for me for $600 to sand and paint the whole thing using bulldog or something like that. He did it before in AVY. How much you paid yours? Please post some pic when you get a chance. I can't wait for my 07 AVY to be painted. The guy at the bnody shop told me it won't be as smooth as the EXT cladding after he sand it.

bulldog is a adhesion promoter, and if it's not as smooth as a ext he's not sanding enough

Thank....I talked the guy from the Cadilac dealership and told me that it will def. fit.
Just take yours off sand and paint.  Used all Speis Hecker paint and primers for plastic.  I took all of them off - not east, broke several clips and they are 3.90 each to replace.

pics didn't attach - sorry

Last item  - I got tired of the splashing up the sides so I ordered the four mud flaps.  I am in the process of sanding and painting these now, should be finished in about a week if I don't get sidetracked again!

I'm a fan of the sanded and painted mudflaps. I've done that to mine also and love the look.

Hey !! i'd love to see a pic of those if you get a chance.  :)

I'm interested in how much the EXT kit from Caddy ran you.  I'm scared to call them and ask.
