Hey guys, for some reason I was sure that front grill is separate from bumper on my 07 avalanche  :E: and I bought aftermarket one to install, but I noticed that I would need cut my original one off and now kinda thinking if it's worth it.... Any help or suggestions?
Attached some pics just to have an idea what I'm talking about  :help:

DO IT! (y)
One of the best (IMO) facelift mods for the 2nd Gen Av out there.
Yours looks like someone did all the legwork on the top end, I had to cut both the top and bottom and fiberglass the horizontal portion (that attaches to the Rad support)on top from the stock unit on myself.
The bumper is a piece of cake to pull, 2 guys and 15 minutes you should have it off, just measure 4X before you cut. once the blade/wheel touches the plastic, all your apprehension/anxiety will evaporate and excitement of having a 1 piece full height grill will start to set in.
A steady hand and a die grinder or small cutting wheel and you'll be just fine.
Here it is a few months ago, and back in early 2012?, maybe 2011 when I put it on.

I was thinking of doing that without removing bumper, but I will talk with one handy guy who works only with chevy and see what he has to say and if he can help me out with this project...

P.S> love the air intakes on the hood  custom made or something that I can find online?

I would strongly suggest pulling the bumper cover, it will make it that much easier, and if you do slip up, you won't end up messing up your headlight housings. It really is simple, you and a friend or even g/f or wife can pull it off in 15 minutes or so, and it goes back on just as easy. You can do it yourself, but once it breaks loose of the foam support blocks it gets kind of flimsy due to the length and the last thing u want to do is lose control of it and drop it and scratch the bumper all up.
The hood is manufactured by Extreme Dimensions. It is an off the shelf item, it's the CV-X model made from duraflex. There is a steel version out there as well, I thing it's made by Keystone (the owner of good-hood). As with any aftermarket body part, it took some minor modding/adjusting to get the body lines where I wanted them and it does not come with grilles, I used expanded stainless (it was the closest I could find to a slammer pattern of the grille) that is actually for protecting roof gutters and painted it black. It is super light (like 10%, maybe less of the weight of the stock hood) so it did chatter a bit when I fight put it on, I ended up pinning it w/ aerocatches.
Here's my post from when it first went on.
